2022 (NA yr) Genesis G70

HP numbers don't really mean anything unless it translates to actual performance. The BMW inline 6 has only 335 HP yet can easily smoke any other 6-cylinder with higher rated HP, even naturally aspirated V8's like the one in the IS500. Even with 365 HP, a Genesis G90 with the TTV6 is about as fast as the LS500 with its 420 HP, and they both weigh roughly the same.
I'm interested to see what Genesis does with the new 3.5TT in the upcoming G80 Sport, which will get a power boost over the current version.

It read like you excused BMW for not clearing 400hp because it has an inline 6 while criticizing Genesis for only getting 365hp with a V6.
Genesis could easily get 400hp out of their engine but probably at the expense of fuel efficiency which they didn't want to do. Also, I don't know if their in-house tranny can hold that much power. Genesis also isn't marketed as a high performance brand so doesn't seem like they need to crack 400hp.

I only critique the Genesis V6 because it’s quite short on the power compared to the other manufacturers out there. For an all new engine to not clear 400hp just shows the limitations of this Hyundai engine. (Both real world performance as well as marketing reasons)Nothing wrong with a little critique? BMW has engines north of 400hp which you have to pay more for.... the 300hp 2.5tt by Hyundai is something that should be praised.
Genesis fuel economy is actually pretty uncompetitive.

How do you figure 375 hp and 391 lb-ft are the limits to this engine? Both the 3.3TT and 3.5TT V6s are barely breaking a sweat.
And since you want to rag on numbers keep in mind the 540i is at 335 hp 331 lb-ft, the E450 is at 362 hp 369 lb-ft and the A6 55 is at 335 hp 369 lb-ft.
I suggest we wait for the upcoming G80 Sport to try and make up limitations.

Genesis G70 wagon teased by European division
For a little over a year that Genesis has been toying with the possibility of a G70 wagon or shooting brake. Early last year the company said as much, and the following summer a prototype was caught by one of our spy photographers. But now the car is official, as the European division of Genesis released teaser shots of the long-roof G70.
The design is low and sleek, as we would expect from the company that has given us such brilliant concept designs as the recent X and slightly older Mint and Essentia. From the B-pillar forward, it's mostly the same as the refreshed G70 sedan, but moving rearward, there are a number of changes. The rear door glass has a lower sill and the top bends farther down to meet it. This makes some extra room for wraparound rear glass. Though extended, the roof still stays low and tapers toward the rear, and it's accentuated by a rear spoiler. Interestingly, the car doesn't appear to be much longer than the sedan.
Genesis hasn't given exact timing for when the G70 wagon will go on sale, but either late this year or early next year seems likely. The brand is only just launching in Europe this year, and the first models on sale will be the G80 sedan and GV80 crossover in the summer, followed by the G70 sedan and GV70 crossover a little after.

Pole Position
I like the long roof G70! Hopefully it results in a bigger back seat, as the current sedan's back seat is a deal breaker for me. Too, the new design provides room for a full-size fire extinguisher.
