Yup I get the corporate face is on the other models, but as I said the proportions dont look right imho. Here its perfect.

If i had to pinpoint it, its the design of the headlights here flow with the grill, I guess due to their more circular nature, vs the other models which are more rectangular/squared off.

Styling at least in the pictures looks nice, I think it looks better then the G80 pics. What really matters is what they look like in person, I find the interior kind of bland though.

I'd say the proportions of the other Genesis models fit their character. The G80 and GV80 are chiselled and angular, whereas the G70 is more svelte similar to Mercedes' current design language. The softer grille and more rounded proportions would not work on the masculine, stately body of the G80 and its bulging hood.

I much prefer this over the "same sausage different lengths" approach that the Germans do.

The thing I do wish was carried over to the G80 from the refresh G70 are the wheels. The current ones are pretty bland.

Is this picture of a production model? It’s beautiful.

To me, the rear facelift is the least successful bit of grafting this design onto the existing body. The trunk lid and taillights just look a bit off. Really liked the rear look of the current/existing design, but doesn't fit with their "2 line is us" motif. Still toying around with if picking up the last of the 2,0T with 6MT's is worth it for a daily type driver or not. Obviously not super sporty, but comfortable, modern, and with a stick.

The manual in the G70 is crap that came from straight from the Hyundai Genesis coupe. The 2.0T is a pretty dated engine that gets whooped by the one in the Accord, and I'm almost certain the new G70 will offer the 2.5T like the Stinger and G80.

Another pic of the back on the production model.

Looks a million times better and more premium than new IS.

This is the best Genesis design to date, hopefully a coupe will be next.

This could pass as a new generation, the updates are that extensive, puts the double refreshed 3IS to shame. I don't care for the current G70 but this one I like.

The lower rear corner of the "diffuser" area wrapping around to the side of the rear bumper and reaching forward towards the rear wheel is super awkward to me.

The new G70 looks like a mish-mash....front end lights look great! Lower part of the front looks awful....side is OK, but kinda Acura TL looking....back is not bad...it does look pleasant but the outgoing front end (not the lights) looks better...new IS looks far more shaper and honed in.

This will make no dent into sales figures...
