I think Hyundai excluded the new engine on the 2022 G70 to keep the price down...Lexus did not raise the price for the IS which looks to be intentional

GV70 posts removed. That vehicle (CUV versio of the G70) is covered here: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/car...irst-time.html

Charlie's drive:
Surprised to see that the rear seats are slightly more spacious than the pre-refresh.
The dark chrome grille looks great and I assume every later Genesis with the Sport designation will have it over the standard chrome treatment.

Oh and charlie drives like a lunatic. Love it.
Loved when he said he had to slow and do a u turn or he'd be driving right into N. Korea.
The variable exhaust note is one of the better implementations i've seen in terms of how it sounds.

The G70 has a decent interior, certainly better than the Kia Stinger, but man it shows its age compared to the GV70 even with this refresh. Doesn't even have ambient lighting. The G70 and GV70 are only two years apart but the inside looks more like two generations apart. The R&D budget Genesis has must be absurd.

If the this review is anything to go by, it looks like Genesis had the same idea as Lexus's recent models and made the G70 a more insulated, softer-riding car.
The reviewer said that the suspension and steering were noticeably lighter than before, even compared to the refreshed Stinger, and there's almost no engine noise even on Sport+ mode. It seems Genesis wants the G70 to be more aimed at the C-Class than the 3 Series with this refresh.

Softer-riding and more insulated was what Lexus went after and accomplished with the refreshed IS and LS, as well as this year's LC.

Back of the car is downright ugly, too bad because otherwise it's a nice package.

more seriously, i don't see this making much inroads vs C/3 because it has so little rear seat room.

but for those who don't need a great back seat, or just have kids in car seats, it's very nice, but i think the coming gv70 is going to far outsell it.
