2022 (NA yr) Genesis G70
#121
true, i was responding to your post comment "It seems Genesis wants the G70 to be more aimed at the C-Class than the 3 Series with this refresh." So if that's the aim you would think genesis wants to convince people looking at 3/C to at least take a look at the G70 but i believe as soon as they see how small the back seat is, they'll move on.
I also don't think rear seat space is much of a priority for compact luxury sedans. Even the IS, which has less interior space than the G70, still manages to outsell it. As you said, those looking for space at the same price would rather spend their money on a crossover, or a lower-trim midsize sedan.

I will laugh so hard when Genesis and other Hyundai Kia RWD platforms get switched over to transverse FWD with optional AWD.

The Genesis G70 has grown on me. The interior I kind of like because of the hard dedicated buttons...I don't think the rear seat and space make a difference LOL As for the exterior, its ho hum. Not great. But not bad. Rear truck looks kind of dumb. I guess I would have to see the front end in person to really decide if it looks good. Genesis will never get off the ground without dedicated dealers....but those buying these cars are driving something unique (I guess) Mercedes, BMW, Audi and Lexus are better choices IMO

2022 Genesis G70 Launch Edition
It's limited to just 500 units
Genesis will offer a limited-run Launch Edition model of its redesigned 2022 G70 sport sedan. Based on the rear- or all-wheel-drive variant of the G70 with the turbocharged 3.3-liter V6, the Launch Edition adds some unique exterior and interior treatments along with a small dose of exclusivity. Only 500 will be made.
Spotted by the eagled-eye folks over at Roadshow, the 2022 G70 Launch Edition appeared on the Genesis consumer web site without any official preamble. It offers a set of lightweight, 19-inch wheels inmulti-spoke pattern with a dark finish. It's available in one of two matte finishes (Verbier White or Melbourne Gray) and two interior upholstery treatments (Obsidian Black or Sevilla Red).

Genesis hasn't announced pricing or in-depth specs on the Launch Edition, but we can get a pretty clear picture of what it offers from the company's own reservation system. There don't appear to be any unique mechanical components to the package and the underlying feature content is based on the Sport Prestige model, which comes with all of the performance goodies Genesis offers (Brembo brakes, a limited-slip differential and an electronically controlled adaptive suspension). The Sport Prestige is also loaded up with tech, Nappa leather seating surfaces, a microfiber suede headliner and a heated steering wheel.
The Launch Edition's unveiling was tied to the launch of a reservation system for the updated sedan.

The IS350 and G70 are priced about the same (with the Lexus being more expensive at the higher trims). The IS500 will be a good $10-15k over the G70. Also, i don't believe the 4.5s to 60 in the IS500...it should be in the low 4s range. I think they are being a bit conservative.
