Exactly, that's just the unfortunate thing. Misleading. Maybe I need to quit my job and start up a media company, that gets all the facts and ensures content is as clear as possible to the readers.

I'm real sick of all these journalists failing to deliver and semen more like glorified bloggers. In fact, back in February 2019, I anonymously provided Auto Blog such information on Bronco sub-brand and they did not respond. As usual they sleep on it.

Yes, you got it. Ironically enough I'm ex-JLR and was very infuriated about Defender not getting the bespoke ladder frame architecture, which would have been for Defender sub brand vehicles.

And the body on frame architecture would have cost a hefty amount in the ££ billions. Back in Solihull, England, I still own my Defender 90 SVX (and bought a 1974 ML Bronco with my partner in USA).

You can see where I'm coming from in terms of disappointment.

There are names to blame for that at Tata and JLR, but maybe I should not name them.

I recently did a test-drive and write up, here in this forum, on an American-market 2020 First Edition Defender, and, though the interior was ultra-stark and not up to the same standards as most other JLR products, it drove quite nicely, and I was quite impressed at its road-manners, particularly the smooth ride.

Well that's my point, it's unibody. Because of a myriad of other reasons and particularly seeing the final model for this vehicle in 2016, I left JLR, but I most certainly did not speak a word of this knowledge for legal reasons until post embargo.

The budget for a unique body-on-frame architecture was rejected, because it could not be used by Range Rover nor Discovery families. Considering that FCA is able to with JL/U & JT and share it with no other vehicles, it was simply stingy Tata.

All Broncos will be 4WD, so no 2WD configurations, And as stated in one of the articles above, we're still 6+ months away from sales start of the Bronco itself since sales don't start until 2021 calendar year.

I bet Toyota is waiting to see how this does before starting work on the next FJ Cruiser.

I think its an absolute home run, everything the defender is for 20K less.

Great. We ARE going to get a two-door Bronco....though Ford doesn't expect to sell many in the U.S. I think they will sell more two-doors than they are figuring on. The last two-door Bronco basically became a cult-vehicle.

I dunno. Here in the 'burbs, most Jeeps I see are 4-doors nowadays.

True Broncos aren't designed for suburban mall-shopping. Go get a Blazer for that LOL.

Your point is taken, though.....many suburbanites and families will probably want the 4-door version.

Anyhow, Ford is going easy on two-door production at first, to see how well it actually does, If more are needed, they can always ramp up production.

Agreed. The only thing I think they missed on was not allowing the 7MT with the TTV6. But I love that you can get it however you want. Stripped with maximum off-road prowess? Done. Basic drivetrain and running gear with Leather and all the niceties? Good to go. Decked to the nines with every off-road and luxury option, but still with the (very nice looking) marine-grade vinyl seats and drain plugs in the floor? That’s fine too.

Make mine a Badlands 2-door with the 4-cylinder, 7MT and Lux package, which can still come with those trick waterproof seats, so I can drive it to work nekkid and not worry about whether it sprinkles during the day. Edit: also the Sasquatch package. Thought it was standard on the Badlands, but only on the Wildtrak.
