Lol, he probably eroded the ground around him already from the spinning he's been doing for years.

Good point. Also makes one wonder what will become of the Jeep names....and if it will affect them or not. Can you just imagine the new "Stellantis" Grand Wagoneer tying to compete with the big SUVs from Ford and GM?

Stellantis is not going to be the company name. It will be the name of the umbrella corporation, encompassing all the brands. Your Jeeps, Rams, and Chrysler 300's will still be Jeeps, Rams and Chrysler 300's

No company in their right mind would put a "Stellantis" badge across the doors, decklid, or grille of a vehicle. Do you see "Fiat-Chrysler Automobiles" spelled out across the Wagoneer's grille?

Well, if nothing else, I hope, for your sake, that is the case. I know you've been a big fan of Rams for years.

I could see them spinning off their Electric Variants under a single brand name, but I wouldn't think this would be it. Truly a terrible name.

It did not get one halfway through the initial 1990MY like the Eclipse (GSX) and Talon (TSi AWD), but the Laser RS Turbo AWD launched with the light refresh for the 1992MY.

^^^ These triplets were superb sports-coupes for the period, although built in an assembly plant that had a terrible reputation. This is not really the thread to get into the details, but I plan a write-up of these cars very soon. One of my closest friends (and co-workers) owned one.

Default Fiat-Chrysler and Peugeot unveil burgeoning Stellantis supergroup's new logo

Stellantis, the entity formed by the merger between Fiat-Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) and PSA Group, has revealed its logo. It's as anonymous as the name of what will become the world's fourth-largest carmaker.

Executives explained the logo symbolizes the rich heritage of the group's founding companies, and the unique combined strengths of the new conglomerate's 14-brand portfolio. While that's certainly one way to look at it, finding an iota of heritage in the Stellantis logo requires an unusually vivid imagination. It consists of the company's name in a sans serif font on a blue background. Designers removed the horizontal bar from the letter A, and they surrounded it by four rows of increasingly small dots vaguely arranged like stars in a galaxy.

Chrysler helped NASA develop and build the Mercury-Redstone rocket, but we doubt that's what the galaxy-shaped logo is trying to remind us of. Nothing about it suggests Stellantis bundles some of the oldest and best-known car manufacturers in the world. It wouldn't look out of place in an ad for a credit card company, in a brochure for a frequent flier program, or on an over-the-counter pain reliever box, and that was likely intentional. It's a corporate logo that's going to appear on pens, name tags, coffee mugs, and a wide variety of paperwork, so it doesn't need to be eye-catching or ignite excitement — it'll never show up on a car.

Stellantis Charger Hellcat? Nope. Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Stellantis Edition? Not happening, either. Chrysler, Peugeot, Dodge, Opel, Vauxhall, Jeep, Alfa Romeo, Ram, Citroën, Fiat, Maserati, and the other odds and ends that will be dumped in the Stellantis melting pot will carry on with their respective identities and naming systems.

Stellantis it is, then. Expect the new logo to appear on employee payrolls and other official letterheads after the $38 billion 50:50 merger is finalized. Both sides said they plan to complete the merger in the first half of 2021.

^^^Actually, IMO a pretty nice-looking logo , with an obvious Galaxy-image. The galaxy-theme (though not necessarily the logo) ties in somewhat with Ford's use of the Galaxie name, several decades ago, for one line of its full-size cars, and of Saturn's use of a partial-symbol of the planet Saturn with its rings tilted.

Some here are comparing the name to a drug-name. To me, it sounds more like the name of an insect-species (or possibly even that of a dinosaur species LOL). But the actual (graphic) logo, with its star/galaxy theme, I think, looks pretty nice.....I've seen lots worse.

A little off-topic, maybe, but, on the subject of of medications, I'm especially sensitive to being bombarded with drug names, because, on the daily TV and evening news programs I watch, it's a constant barrage of drug/medication ads, apparently aimed at older people, constantly going over the side-effects and saying to tell their doctors this, or that, LOL. I got so tired of them that I just hit the mute button till the chorus of ads is over. One would think that the health-care and medication industries completely support and fund TV stations.
