the only acceptable use of the engine is with the hybrid drive, which you have it in a 300h and people can live with it.

yes there might be other markets with the es250, but they are emerging markets like China where people don’t know much about what Lexus refinement should be.
In countries like China and Vietnam etc, the traffic is so dense that the motor vehicles only travel at 30 mph, and the highway for them is 40 mph; they rarely get to travel at 60 mph.
Hence the ES250 suits them.
Over there, I remember Camries being 2.0 etc.

I'm still scratching my head as to how Toyota only came up with 2 engine NA 4 cylinder engines in the last decade that are so behind the times. Both DF 2L and 2.5L 4cyl would have been great maybe 5yrs ago but today is down on power, refinement and efficiency isnt all that big of a leap.
