Taycans are pretty cool. I still wouldn't be a buyer though.

I'm shocked! My dealer actually has more Taycans in stock than Panamera's, 911's and 718's. Must be what they are known for?

And, am I mistaken or didn’t you get a 911? So obviously it’s different for them.
Yes i just got one.
But obviously I didn’t just start talking about cars to my wife and 2 kids lol.
We considered Cayenne/Macan when i got my X3 late last year.

My wife and daughter don’t care about cars but my 3yr old boy is obsessed already haha.

This thread is about Porsche, How many have you owned again? I've owned two recently, a Macan S and 718 GTS. Yet, I still say Porsche is known for the 911. Driving by a Porsche dealer and asking your wife doesn't make you Porsche authority. I saw a Lamborghini on tv and asked my cat about it....I guess I am knowledgable about them now LOL.
The 911 design is one of the most iconic automobile designs in history. The 911 is what comes to mind for almost anyone who thinks Porsche.....personally I don’t care for it... as for other Porsche models, most are VW platform shared if I am correct.

The issue is you keep repeating stuff about 911 and Porsche that are not true and just your or your wife’s “assumptions”.

When i and other members disagreed - you still hold your position even when your proven wrong lol.

How many movie / pop culture moments did a Macan have? Are there generations of fans collecting them? Are they featured in museums around the world? Let’s be real here.

911 is the most iconic sports car around the world. Corvette and Mustang are up there as well here in the US. They transcend their brands and car culture because everyday folks know what they are.

The car is not growing on me, in fact it gets more and more boring the more I see it.

No...your not correct. Apart from the Cayenne's V6, Porsche don't use any other VW Group engines that I know of..

I think they use the same V8 in the Audi S8. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

The Macan always used the Volkswagen Group's MLB platform and 4 cylinder. Now the V6 version Macan is an Audi design shared with the Panamera and Cayenne I believe. If what I read is correct EZZ... that is a shared V8 that between Porsche, Audi, Bentley, Lamborghini . So does that just leave the 718 and 911 as the only models with Porsche only ICE engines/platforms? Now, I know they aren't exactly the same...Porsche does their own special tuning. And the real magic is in the Porsche transmissions. So I don't really see Jill as incorrect. I read Elon Musk just had a meeting with the head of VW...would have like to have been a fly on the wall for that meeting.

Just drop it. As I have said repeatedly, it was just a notion...theres no way to prove or disprove it unless you're going to take some sort of scientific poll. You think the mass public still thinks of the 911 when they think of Porsche, and I'm not so sure. Case closed.

Its very "soft" and lacks the muscularity in its design you see in te Panamera etc.

Soft. Looks like a spaceship and sounds like one. I bet it feels like one too when you are blasting off with that face melting speed. I'm a big fan
