Alex on Autos interview...

The problem with Alex however, is that he goes in such mundane tirades over the most irrelevant details on the most similar cars, like listing rear headroom on 10 virtually the same disposable cute utes where the difference is within a fraction of an inch. Do peoples seriously care about this?

That's why he has an entire channel dedicated to abbreviated versions of his reviews:

His style of reviews resonate with you and your style...we get that. I also subscribe but selective on which ones I watch, and do skip sections I find boring. But AOA's style tends to be what people reading CR would be looking for. The enthusiasts, he already has stated that his channel isn't that kind.

....which perhaps is not surprising, considering that the majority of vehicle-sales (perhaps a large majority) are not made to what we would think of as "enthusiasts". They think of their vehicle as personal transportation, and little else. Of course, as I have outlined in other threads, one can also be a car-enthusiast without being a speed or aggressive-driving enthusiast.

You must be talking about Scotty Kilmer. I think he finally realized that his former video-habits of loud decibels and arm-waving were turning people off (me included). His recent videos are far more tranquil, quiet, and adult-like.
He also changes his mind too often on what is reliable and what isn't. There are some exceptions that he has stood firm on, but on many vehicles, he will do one video explaining why they are junk, and then another video a couple of days later on why he would actually buy one of them. I've given up trying to make sense out of at least some of what he says.....although he has been consistently right that FCA products rank near the bottom in reliability. But, take Toyota, for example.....he will often prop them up as the most reliable brand, than pick out one Toyota model or another, and make a video about why you should never buy it. Like I said, I've given up some of his advice.

Alex is great if you're actually buying and don't plan on test driving, I get bored by Alex or I watched a specific part to learn something specific that isn't covered by the other mainstream reviewers.. Savageese is a Toyota Fanboy, even dings Porsche 911's. Red-line I think is the best overall that gives thorough reviews. The guys like Smoking Tire and the Canadians are for us enthusiast's or those of us who buys and like fun cars. As for Doug, dunno how he has that many subscribers I think he's over rated.
I only subscribe to 3 Auto channels on YouTube: Track Tv USA based, Carwow and Joe Achilles UK based, that's it. Other's I watched now and then or if they review a car that I find interesting.

I can't stand him. I think he swore once when I first tried to watch and it just turned me off. I won't watch him again.
I used to like these reviews. But lately not so much
As AoA, if he were to hire a professional producer and his show was polished up quite a bit, he probably could be the best there is.
I personally like Doug...he does reviews on old cars and finds odd stuff to talk about. His new car reviews are just pandering to viewers...but his old stuff is great.
