Not sure why they would need a vehicle larger than the X7...

I do know the Q8 is smaller and I thought that looking at this it looked smaller/sleeker in terms of roofline vs the X7. Like the Q8 I thought maybe it was supposed to be sportier without a 3rd row like the Q8.

The long body makes it look deceptively larger than the X7 when in actuality it's smaller positioned right next to it (in white). I guess BMW is mirroring the relationship between the 8 Gran Coupe and 7 Series with these two SUVs?

X8 is the coupe version of X7 a la X6 to X5.
Brilliant way to generate higher margins by changing up styling and charging much higher price.
