Carscraps is so full of ****. Always know how to take a story and f*** it up, with opinionated conjecture. The so-called concept was the production vehicle itself. not to mention, these aren't the first
Anyway at OP:
it's very unfortunate that management decided to both cancel IS and GS redesigns.

That would be awesome and make it a M3 competitor for way less money and really reclaim some pride for the brands performance. Sorry I defaulted to thinking the 2UR would again be the normal engine and that the TT would be the top, I doubt Lexus would ever give the 3.5TT as a base engine even though they really really should in anything it fits in so I totally missed your point.

Toyota needs to pick a lane, gas, EV, hydrogen. 1 not all 3.

The 2021 Mirai final design was quickly approved in 2017, as last year it was mentioned somewhere in Japanese, it had only been some 2 years since they came up with the final look. At the time, it was also 3 years since GS cancellation was first mentioned in December 2016. 2019-2 = 2017, so it makes sense.
I was the first and only person to report on 5GS cancellation outside of Japan during 2016, as ironically not even Lexus USA knew about it in Torrance and Plano. It took until March 2017 for it to catch fire and be reported everywhere else in English, thanks to Lexus Enthusiast taking my advice and doing some further research (plus hiring a translator).
I did an about face in March 2017 on misleading unofficial info from Toyota USA peeps and then reverted back to my cancellation stance in 2018 when I got better proof. In 2020, I was proven correct, along with ex-CL member MPLexus who is very, very knowledgeable about the future of Lexus. A very good source of info.

I don't know what Toyota and Lexus are doing anymore. We have a Mirai refresh (why) the same 15 year old engine in new models largely unchanged, an EV that is not even good enough to sell in North America. And the ultimate salt in the wound no V8 LS.
