Congrats, good lucking 4Runner. I have owned two 4Runner's and they both treated me really well. You can't beat their overall reliability and the styling of the current model is really sharp. My all time favorite feature of the 4Runner is the ability to roll the back window down on a beautiful day/night - I'm glad they haven't done away with that.

Congratulations! No doubt the right car for the right owner here.

4Runner's with 20's (I believe just Limited and Nightshade) all have the 60 series tires. Others all have the 17" with 70 series.

Agree and it's worse with the Limited/Nightshade. Had to move to narrower tires to not have an impact to the Fuel economy ratings associated with the full time 4WD system. Wish they could have changed the offsets to not make it look like a train car.

Congrats Jill! Just the other day I was at the local Toyota dealer getting my Tacoma's 6 month service done and walked around, looking at the 4Runners. I thought of you and was wondering what options you chose.

The LED headlights in my Tacoma are awesome. I like the LDA/LKA in my Tacoma, but hate it in my GS where it's dinging all the time with false alerts. I just keep it off in the GS. I would never buy another car without radar cruise, though. I love that feature. With so much traffic, I feel like it finally makes cruise control useful again. Do remember that you can use it as regular (non-radar) cruise control if you prefer that.

I will forever have a soft spot for 4Runners. I loved my 2007 and would love to have one again. If I ever part with my Tacoma, I would consider replacing it with a 4Runner. They're so unapologetically old school, but with nice updates. I hope you enjoy it for years to come!

Congrats on the nice upgrade. How much a comparable GX460 (premium?) cost in Canada?

I always love 4Runner. We have 2002 Sport Edition, 2003 SE V8 with the black side cladding, 2004 SR5 V6 (still have it - not 1 single problems after 16+ years with about 110k miles) and 2005 SE V8 (regret the we sold this one). If it comes with a V8 or Turbo V6 I would buy one.

The car has probably its own sim chip for data connectivity (Freedom Pop is the carrier); I have a similar setup in my car.
Freedom Pop service fluctuates between 3G and 4G depending on region.

I love your 4-Runner...congrats on the purchase! The price was high, but so too should be the value you get out of it. The dark blue is troublesome in keeping it looking clean, but when it is clean, is beautiful (based on maintaining my wife's dark blue ES).

I'm sure you will become accustom to all the new tech you aren't particularly thrilled with. Keep us posted once you get used to everything!

Remember too Jill's in Canada, so that's Canadian Dollars. So about $45k USD.

Thanks so much to those who have wished me well.

Few observations:
Love the telematics that works with my phone. (Watch my vehicles status etc).
Apple Car Play phone call screens pops when a call comes through but goes back to your original menu screen
Destination assist is pretty awesome. Tried it out
No new car smell. Just smells like leather...it’s strange. The leather seat parts are very reminiscent of the Lexus ES quality
Floor lights when you enter for driver and pas. then they go out when you drive.(rare to see that on non luxury cars)
LED but no signature daytime LED
LED spotlight lights up the centre console in a soft glow
puddle the night in a soft blue glow
Drivetrain feels very mechanical...like machine like.
netted rear seat back pockets
Door lock pulls light up at night in a soft glow

I really don’t like that some lights are LED like the floor lights but the door courtesy of over head pocket lights are.

Thanks. Didn’t look at the GX, but it’s like $90K I think in CN. So wasn’t interested but a V8 would be nice...but I still got the 04 V8

Thanks. The rear window is pretty good. They added it to the Sequoia and Tundra as well.

Thanks so much. I just love it. I was quoting Canadian specifications.

You are a major contributor to the forum...now it's time for the forum to wish you well on your new purchase.

No new car smell. Just smells like leather...it’s strange.
Some manufacturers have been working to lessen or eliminate that smell, because, while it is nice for many people (myself included), some are allergic or have adverse reaction to the fumes, which are caused mostly from gassification of the vinyl, plastic, rubber, fake-leather, and other interior materials.

I don't think you'll miss daytime LED lights for the DRLs. Even halogens do well as DRLs.....and more than meet the legal requirements. And you (apparently) have the LED headlights you want at night anyway.

Check the Owners' Manual, but it will probably tell you, for the first 500 or 1000 miles, to limit engine RPM to 4000-4500 (which you probably rarely see anyway), no full-throttle acceleration, no towing, vary engine speeds, and easy on the brakes except in an emergency. That will help seat/break-in the piston-rings/valves and brake pads/rotors correctly and avoid oil-consumption problems later.

Congratulations on your new 4Runner! I really like the color and good call on getting the PPF installed, you'll be glad you did.
