Lexus Trademarks TX 350 and TX 350h: What Does It Mean?

Lexus trademarks TX, which could signal that a longer three-row RX is coming soon.

Although I understand that lack of funds may have been an issue, this is probably what they should have done in the first place. A number of us, on Car Chat, agreed that the way Lexus did the first 3-row-seat RX was simply inadequate.

I thought Lexus had ruled out a pickup, given the trouble that Cadillac (and especially Lincoln) had trying to sell theirs. But, anyhow, Jill, it's an interesting guess.....and you might be correct, although, like the Editor, it will more likely be a crossover. But, even then, Honda has managed to sell a crossover pickup, so...........

Please dont tell me they plan on recycling the 2gr again in the 350. What the heck is a 350h? The Rav4 Prime powertrain or the Highlanders/Siennas?

Unless Lexus plans on upping the boost on the 2.0T, it would more than likely be the 2GR for the 350. If I were a betting man, the 350h would be the same powertrain as the Highlander. The RAV4 Prime's powertrain matches more to the 450h+ that they recently trademarked for the RX.

I am going to go ahead and say that with the demise of the Land Cruiser platform stateside, they are going to bring a Sequoia/Tundra based 3-row SUV to market.

Yes it can, with the same engine from the LS500 . If a 5.7L V8 fits in it, a TTV6 is an easy replacement. and before you say "It isnt enough power for something that size", my buddy has an Expedition Max (Suburbam competitor) with the 3.5L Ecobost TTV6 and that thing hauls the friggin mail.

the ls500 designation is 500 of course and it's a TTV6, not the ancient NA V6 (in GS350, RX350, IS350) so i'd say there's zero chance the LS500 engine will end up in a TX350.

Then it would have been called the RX500. Maybe the RX350 will come with the rumored 2.4L Turbo 4.

Latest TX trademark: TX 550h+

https://lexusenthusiast.com/2022/03/...marks-tx-550h/

Lexus has trademarked “TX 550h+” in the United States and while we haven’t seen the new full-size, three-row crossover just yet, we can make some guesses about powertrains based on this information.

Previously, Lexus trademarked “TX 350,” likely coming with the same 2.4L turbocharged four cylinder engine as the new NX 350, and “TX 500h,” speculated to use that same 2.4L turbocharged four cylinder mated to a hybrid system.

A new TX 550h+ would likely sit atop the TX pecking order, possibly using the 2.4L turbocharged four cylinder engine mated to a larger battery pack that provides electric-only driving options, similar to the NX 450h+. One of the upsides of that powertrain would be more power as well, and with a “550” designation, it seems logical to assume this powertrain could return 350-400 horsepower in final form.

TX is supposedly the next gen RX L 3-row equivalent. Not the Sequoia. Current RX still isn't on TNGA. Wonder if next RX will forgo the V6. Highlander currently still has V6 and a 4-cyl hybrid.

I wish we could get more in the Lexus family the size of my old RX300 or even my CT.
