Default Bill from Auto Europa just reviewed an LS430

It’s a car that gets a decent amount of talk on car chat so I put it here. I love this guy. Such a breath of fresh air from all the dorky people who review cars. Bill definitely was having fun in the 80s, lmao.

Looks like he just bought it. He’s wrong about a few things but he gets it, gives respect where it’s due. I politely explained to him the oscillating vents aren’t just Mazda 626 left and right but rather controlled by sun, seat, and temperature settings.

He gives 430 proper respect but I hope he keeps it at least for a little while and drives it around more, wafts it around and watches it do its thing, if nothing more than to see that the vents aren’t just a gimmick. It’s very easy to get spoiled by the powertrain and ride.

I just thought it was cool he did an LS430, bc he did do a late 290 hp LS400 and gave it lots of credit too.

Great car. Really is. I don’t know if it gets the same level of love or respect in the German circle like it does by those who love Toyota/Lexus and Japan stuff.

It’s like politics. Nobody is changing their minds and opinions are set in stone. IMO, LS430 was hands down the best full size luxury car of early 2000s, I could give you a Master’s Degree thesis of why.

I agree with your option. CR did as well. But I just don’t know if those who were buying S class and 7 series at the time felt the same way...V8 turbos and V12 really set those cars apart.....I do think the 430 did set the tone for the Lexus brand....it is kinda what made the brand....and the early 00s were certainly some exciting times for Lexus

W220 did have the fire breathing AMG models and V12s, but just W220 vs XF30, car for car, Lexus won that battle. Beyond then I can’t say the same.

Arguably the best full-size car Lexus ever did.

Rim swap could be worse at least they’re Lexus, but a white one needs the proper 18s”, chromed IMO.

Oh yeah it popped up in my YouTube after only an hour of being up, lol.

Hahaha. ::::used car smoker’s voice:::: “GOOD MORNING!” I love it.

Bill is great. Truly hilarious.

At the end of this after you think it’s over it shows him cruising down the interstate at a solid 95MPH. He’ll start to like the car more and more, if he keeps it and drives it around more. On the interstate hardly anything (if anything at all) had a better interstate ride back then.

Every.single.time. Pretty sure that’s a legit phobia, then there’s also that old Hitchcock movie about them.

One other quirk: Bill also didn’t seem to understand VVT-I on this LS— I’m certain he knows what variable valve timing is.
