A simple light fixture like that should not be burning up bulbs. You might have an electrical problem/voltage spikes.

Or maybe it's just those K 1 A (wink wink) bulbs just plain burning up....

Yeah, problem is I can't find anything wrong. It's only this on particular fixture. Nothing else has ever done this and frustratingly it doesn't even have inrush issues according to my tools.

I have no idea why it does this, probably since it's a K1A lol!

Agreed that was a good catch on Dave's part.......you have to look very closely at it.

Most automakers do not, and from I can remember, never have, made their own bulbs, but contract with electrical companies. When I was growing up, decades ago, it was mostly GE (General Electric) or Sylvania bulbs......occasionally something else. Today, of course, there are other companies in the business.

It's nice since it's positioned in a way that it can be left on without really getting glare on the tv or anything so people can go up and down without needing the main lights one.

However. I learned something about 3 min ago when I went to get some frozen beef and the damn thing blew again that it's MADE BY KIA.

EVEN THE DAMN LIGHTS THEY MAKE FAIL.

This is mostly a joke, I have no idea if they made this for sure but man did I get a kick out of this. If they did actually make this then.....
nice try to bash kia with fake news. i googled the part # and looks like you can get something similar on ebay.

about your fixture 'eating bulbs' is it on a circuit that also has something else of high load? may create some kind of surge or drop in voltage that stresses the bulbs in your fixture.

Should be an easy recall and fix.

Need that OTA update like Tesla.

Not trying to visit the Hyundai dealership.

You should use the parking brake anyway, helps keep it working and makes totally certain the driveline is not under stress when parked.

We seriously quoting reddit now? lmfao.

I'm more surprised that the parking brake doesn't automatically engage despite being electronic. An odd design choice.

No issues. Many vehicles are like that today......they have a electronic button or tab for the parking brake, and you engage it yourself.

Sounds like an issue to me if the vehicle is rolling away because of the parking brake.
