Hyundai/Kia recalls and lawsuits

Some engines, unfortunately, use oil between changes. Most automakers do not consider oil use to be excessive or require warranty work unless it is more than a quart or so in 1000 miles. Typically, although valves and bearings can also be a culprit, if a newer engine does use a lot of oil, it is usually indicative of poor-quality or misfitted piston rings. Some rings have even known to have been installed at the factory upside down.

I've updated my personal studies on defective lighting for recent Kia/Hyundai models: Now around 90% of them have non-working brake lights or taillights. I've been tracking this for nine years, and the percentages are climbing each year. This shows, like the engine and fire recalls, the problems have not been addressed and are only growing worse.
How do you track something like this?!

It's sooooo simple! Pay attention. My commute has been 50 miles per day, most at night. It's a given.

Most brands vehicles have samples running around with non-working or burnt-out lights. The older the vehicles, the more likely you are to see that. Kias and Hyundais are no worse than any other band in that regard. And in any vehicle, Korean or not, halogen bulbs are more likely to burn out than HID, LED, or Bi-Xenon...but, of course, a whole lot cheaper to replace.

What I have seen recently is that all lights in an assembly are out, i.e., say the front right headlight and parking light, or the lower level brake lights (but not the high-mount light). Which, particularly with the popularity of LEDs, is not the "bulb" but the wiring or connection or fuse.

They all suck but kia sucks worse then nearly all the rest. That's what my statement means, it's not that hard to understand

I've had a lot of cars, and the Kia I had was nowhere near the worst car I have had.
