True, its just funny (in a good way) how over-engineered stuff is in this car
Does it ever make you feel insulted, though, that some vehicles (and automakers) assume that we, as functioning human beings, can't do anything behind the wheel any more, and has to be done for us? Having convenience is one thing (and I'll be the first to admit it)...having machines and electronics in the vehicle do everything for us is quite another.
So odd that Mercedes doesn't have the option to have the driver side mirror do the reverse tilt!
I wonder if this is a German brand thing? On both of our current cars (both BMW's) only the passenger side mirrors tilt down. Previously I had a Q5 and an A6 but honestly don't remember if the driver side mirrors tilted or not.
I suspect its broken. Sometimes things slip through the cracks. Its not unheard of for brand new cars to be broken.
I hope it isn't the case but why would they tilt just one mirror?
It's not broken, this is just the way they do it, both of my BMWs, our Audi, and our previous Lexus worked this way. I believe their thought process is that the feature is for gauging distance to the curb when parallel parking, which shouldn't be a concern on the Driver's side.
Watching the panoramic roof unseal and open up and then reseal down again is just so high quality and overbuilt, its like opening the door to a plane...
Does it make the Darth Vader helmet sealing sound?
in my LS the mirror angling down in reverse is dependent on whether or not the mirror adjuster switch is in the center, in the E it's a setting you have to turn on or off in the gauge cluster
