so i opened the hood for the first time last night, out of curiosity.
A beautiful symmetrical beast to be sure.
I saw these in reviews, but was still interesting to look at the EXPLODING BOLTS near the struts and the front to push the hood up in event of a front collision (i really don't see how this 'saves' pedestrians but i guess lexus did what they had to to keep the low hood line!).
I then took the engine cover off... wow.
That weird snaking tube from lower left (intake) to firewall pipes sound from the engine into the car when a valve is opened!

They do look good under the hood. Not completely covered up like my LS460 was. Very nice!
Yeah that intake sound generator is a pretty smart piece of tech, way better than artificial engine sound.

Congrats! End of an era vehicle with the NA V8 for sure! One of the most direct concept to production designs of our times.
Those exploding hood mounts just help provide extra space between pedestrian and hard points underneath the hood to soften the blow. Jaguar F-Type uses these as well I believe.

Nice cold morning here, crisp blue sky, had to go get tag and title for car. Only an hour at dmv made ok with twisty roads I never usually go on, blasting exhaust sounds and tunes on mark levinson
what a car.

It's not as good as the Lexicon in the Genesis G90 to my ears, but i think the shape/size of the car being so much smaller is probably a factor.
I've seen rave reviews for the upgraded Burmester that wasn't on your awesome car unfortunately. I'm sure yours is still very very good though. I know you said not enough bass, but maybe you could add a sub?
