Yeah I always turn that off. Even the lane keep assist I find annoying. The Mercedes has two systems, lane keep assist where it will nudge you back into the lane at all times, which I have turned off, and the self driving as a part of Distronic plus which I do use,

Since i have run flats, not too concerned.

Does your system work at lower speeds? In the Encore GX, it only works at 37 MPH and above, when a green light comes on in the dash and/or Heads-Up-Display (which my car has) to let you know it is ready for use. It can also be turned off.
no, and yes, similar, i don't know what speed it engages.

"Better" meaning a smoother ride, better handling, or both?
I had expected these very low profile run flat tires on 21" rims to not be very smooth, but the ride is really very good, especially in 'comfort' mode.

the handling is exceptional but that has to do with a lot more than tires (weight distribution, all wheel steering, limited slip, adaptive suspension, etc).

I know where you're coming from overall, but i don't consider lane keep assist to be 'self driving tech'. Don't want to go off topic on that.

No offense, but I wouldn't consider a license-plate frame a mod.

No offense, but you don't need to comment on everything.

I always found it weird that the Mercedes lane keep assist only nudges you back in the lane when there is a solid line, not on hashed lane markings.

To use doug's phrase, another quirk and feature is there's a SINGLE center dash vent (not the usual 2), and THREE vents on the passenger side! 2 on the top edge of the glove box area, and the third in the usual spot near the mirror.

no, lol. i sometimes think, based on all the 'noise' out there that maybe in 5 years gas will be obscenely expensive (or even scarce!) and i should have gotten an EV instead, but regardless, i choose not to think that far ahead, because this car is just wonderful to drive.

it's certainly not an imexpensive car but the quality of EVERYTHING in the car is just top notch. i call it my james bond car but i'd have a hard time believing i'd prefer an aston martin more.

Those tiny slits above the glove box look more like form over function. I'd shut them off and just use the conventional vents.
