I mean, I totally get it...but thats a very rare possibility and I just don't worry about it. I'd "rather" have a spare sure, but the cars just don't have spares, what ya gonna do? If I were on runflats, I'd be in the same situation...

Yes to both...awesome car.
So, runflats will hold their shape for about 50 miles, but there are plenty of reports of sidewall shredding and damage, and in those situations they wont hold their shape. So, basically you're protected from punctures in the tread, and 99% of those can be plugged yourself, or by roadside or patched temporarily with the slime type products.
so with run flats, my understanding is the likelihood of a tire being 'shredded' like a regular flat tire, is extremely low, but maybe i'm wrong? so if a run flat doesn't get shredded, i'm assuming it can be driven a while before repair?

so it's been almost 3 years! time for a quick update and thoughts.
car has 7250 mi. on it. no issues at all. no squeaks, creaks, rattles.
super fun to drive at all speeds. people say it's a GT and not a sports car, but it's got all the handling i need. i'd have drive like a lunatic to get to the limits and i won't do that on public roads.
car is plenty fast to me too. any faster and to me it becomes stupid and not as exciting.
in comfort mode the car is a bit reluctant to downshift and can be a bit abrupt / jerky if you want to downshift in a hurry. in sport s and s+ modes it downshifts much more smoothly with awesome rev matching. in sport s / s+ the car won't go above 8th gear so if you're on highway, comfort is the way... then it's only running about 1600rpm at 80 lol.
car has many exquisite details... sounds very minor but the BEST turn signal subtle clicking sound EVER. heavy insides door handles that are curved brushed alumnium or nickel or something.
the turning lights are awesome (lights that go on left side or right side when you make a turn to light up that side of the road).
the seats are shockingly comfortable for long trips.
couple of nits...
the dunlop run flat tires are very noisy on rough roads. i will find an alternative at some point.
the lane keep assistance is very sloppy and should not be relied upon. adaptive cruise is very good though.
mark levinson stereo is VERY front focused and adjustment to push back just makes it sound worse. performance also seems to depends more than other systems on source and music type.
some times it sounds great. other times very mediocre. i thought an ML system would be better.
so that's it for now... it's really a great car.
