Toyota Grand Highlander (confirmed post 63)

Back to the Highlander and Grand Highlander. Seems like a fairly weird naming convention to take on, as most people associate Grand with FCA products, Grand Wagoneer, Grand Cherokee, Grand Caravan etc.
I get that there aren't a lot of names and options. But this one seems like a miss if this is indeed the name of a stretched version of the Highlander. But Toyota can't really use "L" as that's their base Trim designation.
XL would be GMC
Could call it the Highlander CrewMax =)

The Santa Fe Sport is no more, the Santa Fe re-took the place of the Santa Fe Sport, and the Santa Fe XL is no more, replaced by Palisade.

I'm talking about cars right now. Not many mainstream shoppers today are recalling the Grand Prix or the Grand Nationals. Definitely not core shoppers of Highlanders.

Well, OK, I'll certainly agree with that part.
I think an interesting question, though, will be if the Grand Highlander ends up replacing the Sequoia. The Sequoia, of course, is BOF and a better candidate for heavy towing, but has been in production for 12 years now, and virtually ignored recently.

why would 3 row Highlander replace Sequoia? And how? Anyway, we know new Sequia is coming, based on new Tundra.
