No probably about it, this vehicle should have existed years ago.

About time. Hopefully stays competitive against the Telluride, like bitkahuna referenced, as the next gens I assume are due in a year or two . The Highlander is already heavier than the Telluride.. I wonder if they will give the Grand Highlander the 2.4T like the Highlander, or give it the hybrid combo.

This is just speculation on my part, but I bet Hyundai and Kia are planning to replace the Palisade and Telluride with their upcoming 3-row EV's, the Ioniq 7 and EV9. Meanwhile their existing midsizers like the upcoming Santa Fe are growing in size to match the current Palisade.

Telluride will be my next SUV. Not getting a Lexus 4cyl Turbo that needs the plugs changed at 40,000 miles.

This is a weird reason to not get a car lol. All the cars I've owned I've replaced spark plugs each 40k lmao. And it's super cheap, like 50$ max for a 4 cylinder.

If you do it yourself...Lexus is going to charge $1,000.I believe the turbo Lexus models say 60k for plugs, vs 120k for the naturally aspirated cars.

It is indeed 4 years/40K for the new RX, we were on that thread yesterday. I can't see it being anywhere near $1000 at the dealer, it should be 1 hour labor plus parts.

Is it really?!? Wow that is rough.

Have you had a new car serviced at the dealer? lol. An oil change, tire rotations and inspections are $300. They wanted $350 just to RESURFACE the rotors on my LS. They're gonna charge $1,000 for spark plugs. The amount of time it actually takes means nothing, its what the book rate is.

Iridium spark plugs cost more than $50.00 for 4. That's not the only reason. Weird or not I don't want a 4cy Turbo. You should get one and then you'll learn more about it.

I owned a 4-cyl Audi and bought NGK(one of the most reputable OEM-use brands) Iridium Spark Plugs off of RockAuto for less than 30$ for a set lmao. If you're paying over $50 for 4, you're paying a dealer upcharge. And then it only takes 10-20 minutes to change them if you have the tools. Of course, dealer will charge either half an hour, or an hour of labour for a service like this to get the most out of you. I know a fair bit about 4-cyl engine maintenance lol, and I prefer i6/v6/v8 as much as the next person.

We’re talking all about the dealer up charge. The vast majority of buyers are going to have it serviced at the dealer.

But even at $200 an hour labor, they can't make more than a $250 job out of it. What they can do I guess is bundle the 40K service interval with other items - filter changes, etc - to pump up the overall cost of the service event, if the customer doesn't request ala carte service for just the plugs. I don't mine paying dealer service prices if the work is good, clean, competent, and not a total ripoff. And if they have services like loaner cars or free Ubers.

Oh, for sure they can. If they can charge $350 to resurface rotors with no parts...my Mercedes dealer wants $1,200 to replace pads front and rear and thats a 40 minute job.

Lexus 500/500h spark plug.

Let’s just say we pay full MSRP. It would be $108 plus tax.
