Toyota Confirms Grand Highlander SUV with Hybrid Max Powertrain
It seems likely the new three-row crossover will fit between the current Highlander and larger Sequoia SUVs, and it'll make its full debut February 8.

- Toyota confirmed the existence of the new Grand Highlander SUV, which it plans to fully reveal at the Chicago Auto Show on February 8.
- The three-row SUV will likely fill the gap between the mid-size three-row Highlander and the larger, body-on-frame full-size Sequoia.
- Notably, the Grand Highlander is wearing the same Hybrid Max badge as the top-spec Crown sedan, which suggests a 340-horsepower setup.

I wonder if this is what Toyota is using to replace the previous Gen sequoia? I see the complaints about the solid rear axle and packing of the current / new Gen sequoia but if the grand highlander is a similar size that will satisfy those customers. While the sequoia will satisfy the customers that need a suv that can tow as well as a pick up.
Last week I was using a yukon Denali to tow a 18 foot empty cargo trailer and it wasn't confidence inspiring. Constantly having to make small inputs on the steering to keep it going straight on the highway.

Yukon is supposed to be very good at towing?

Both would and wouldn't be surprised if Toyota flubs bringing a good 3rd row SUV to market after nearly 10 years of people clamoring for a sizable 3rd row and modest space behind 3rd row. Before the 2014 Highlander came out it was already deemed deficient to the 2013 Pathfinder which had started to edge the segment towards a nice and comfortable 3rd row space. 2020 Highlander still stuck to its tiny for the 3-row segment guns as a true head scratcher. Would be quite laughable if this Grand Highlander still fails to literally go big.

Yea it's very hard to tell with all that clever camo. It really just looks like a mid life refresh from the teaser pic, and the "Grand" nomenclature being a trim level upgrade like Denali for GMC or Wagoneer vs Grand Wagoneer. But we shall see if it truly is bigger in a few months.
So many SUV's in the Toyota lineup (and SUV-like things such as the Crown or tiny SUV's like the CHR, Corolla cross etc). Then the Land Cruiser potentially coming back too?
