Default 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee Debuts, with L 3-row edition first

More than a decade after the last gen WK2 debuted, we finally have a new Grand Cherokee, sprouts a long wheelbase L edition with 3 rows. Engines are a bit carryover, but hybrid is coming. 2-row also to be shown later.

I and a number of other forum members have had the outgoing generation Grand Cherokee. I personally think FCA does design really well, and this is no different. I hope the 2-row retains some of the more angled d-pillar lines, as this is pretty upright for good 3rd row space obviously.

A 4XE Plug in Variant could be high on our list in the future.

They got the styling right on the GC. Handsome inside and out.

Jeep does know how to do nice interiors on their top-line products. We also saw that some ten years ago with the introduction of the new Jeep Grand Cherokee.

looks very nice inside and out, but waaaaay too big and fat for me personally (don't need a huge vehicle)

I appreciate some exterior cues, but overall, I feel GM beat Jeep to the punch with the new Tahoe/Yukon/Suburban in regards to that squared off look, I'm sure it'll grow on me though. The interior though is a HUGE improvement. The new Grand Cherokee and Grand Wagoneer will give Land Rover something to think about.

@Hoovey2411 that's a Cherokee interior you posted. But yes, great leap forward for the GC.

Fantastic results on the styling. It's great to see boxiness stay where it should stay. My only pique would be the frontal overbite, which the Durango also has.
The dash is modern and slick, but I can't see how the canted center screen won't wash out with light on it. It's tilted upward more than most.
Overall, this is a winning design. The poor Explorer is going to fall even further behind.

Do they share a common platform?

Looks really good overall; probably would be better without the chrome piece that looks to wrap around. I'm sure it won't be a complete bore to drive with one of their V8s in there!

They did, Dodge hasn't said much about Durango past its light touch up for the 2021 Model Year. Would be odd for Dodge to put that much effort into touching up the Durango for just 1 model year, but we'll see what happens. Wouldn't be surprised to see Durango soldier on as is as a fleet option and budget buy with the new 3 row Grand Cherokee and the upcoming Wagoneers being the uplevel vehicles like when Pacifica came out and the Grand Caravan stuck around for a few more years.

I think it looks fabulous. I’d be a buyer. Easy choice over something like a Highlander to me. Can still get the Hemi too

If it runs.
