Hope this isn't a repost (didn't see it in any other thread). A long-awaited new 2nd-Generation Lexus NX is on the way....and, IMO, definitely-needed, as I was not impressed wth the interior, road-manners, or general level of refinement of the last one. Perhaps its strongest competitor to the new NX may actually be Toyota's own excellent new Venza, which I was quite impressed with when I did a full-review. Here's an article from Car and Driver, showing the new one in body-tape.

Fitting into the Lexus SUV lineup between the UX and the RX, the 2022 NX will competes mostly with subcompact models such as the BMW X1 and Audi Q3. We expect the new version to once again share components with the Toyota RAV4, meaning it will transition onto the front-wheel-drive GA-K version of the Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) underpinnings. It may grow slightly in size, with a longer wheelbase and wider track.

2021 Lexus LS's Edgy Styling Belies Its Soft Side
Lexus recently trademarked the names NX250, NX350, and NX350h, which suggests that the engine lineup will change compared with the current NX300 and NX300h models. We think the NX250 will have a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter inline-four, meaning the current turbo 2.0-liter inline-four could be dropped. The NX350h moniker suggests the hybrid version will be more powerful; Lexus could possibly use the 302-horsepower plug-in-hybrid setup from the RAV4 Prime. And if the NX350 follows the convention used for other Lexus models, it will have a 3.5-liter V-6.
Expect a far nicer interior than the current NX's dated cabin. Lexus has been moving towards touchscreen infotainment systems and away from its finicky touchpad controller, and the new NX likely won't be an exception. The two-row, five-seat layout will remain.
Lexus hasn't officially confirmed the arrival of a new 2022 NX, but we should hear more information later this year. When it eventually goes on sale either late in 2021 or early in 2022, it should start at just under $40,000.

Didn't care for the last one.....but keeping an open mind on the next one. Indeed, if it is anywhere near what Toyota gave us with the new Venza, it will be a major improvement.
With all due respect, I might also remind you......you yourself had a "thing" for the CT200h. After using it as part of your member-ID, you've panned it a couple of times yourself.

Yeah, if the NX350h is using the RAV4 Prime's powertrain, I'm eating my hat.
More than likely:
NX250 - 2.5L I4 same as base RAV4 (might be for outside North American market)
NX350 - 2.0L Turbo I4 with a bump in hp - don't think Toyota will borrow the Supra/BMW motor will they?
NX350h - 2.5L I4 Hybrid system from the Highlander as opposed to RAV4 (243hp).
My guess is it will share a lot more components with the Venza compared to the RAV4 this time.

Can’t get much worse than current one in both styling and overall performance.
I’m sure it will continue to sell like crazy which is all that matters to Lexus at end of the day.
Hopefully Lexus will get the new CX-5 variant that is set to come with Inline 6 and RWD chassis. It would be cool for them to do NX coupe type SUV.

I love our NX. It's a 2016 with zero issues, It drives great, looks awesome, has plenty of power, great gas mileage and the interior feels new, tight and modern. I also have three others members in the family that have one and feel the same. Looking forward to the next generation!

If someone actually said it's either positive PR spin or they are straight out idiots. Rav4 has been Toyota's best selling CUV since like forever and premum CUV has been the hottest market for almost a decade.

it's a lexus compact utility vehicle so it was likely to do well. the ux also does well. lexus is doing a good job riding the cuv / suv wave. i don't personally care for any of them right now. i think if i were looking at an nx i'd just get a venza limited instead.
