C&D - K900 and Cadenza are dead
#16
Kia doesn't have the badge, however IMO, if the K900/Cadenza exterior styling was used in the G90, the G90 would sell like hot cakes relative to its peers, rather than the G90 underselling an already poor selling 5LS.

IMO the G90 is way better looking than the K900

The Kia K9 was a very special car when it carried the V8 option. The V6 is just meh as lots of upmarket non luxury cars have a 6. The K900 should have kept the V8. But a V8 in a KIA is rare, exclusive and is a bit a sleeper. As for styling, neither the Kia K900 or the G90 look spectacular...

V8 wouldnt have made any difference in K900 sales.

The K900 would have done decently if it was badged into what it actually is: a SWB G90. Of course, sales are a moot point when it wasn't even brought into the U.S. in large numbers to begin with, especially from the 2nd gen onward.
Now that the Cadenza and K900 are finished, I'm curious to see what happens to the Stinger. Unlike the K900, it's not as in-demand in the Korean market, which is why there were rumors of its cancellation. I wouldn't be surprised if it gets absorbed and rebadged from the next gen onward as a Genesis, since it's already based on the G70. A G70 Gran Coupe, if you will. Kia's push to move upmarket will be done through their SUV's that don't share parts with Genesis.

Not at all. Subtract a 0 from that number. Kia has cited the market transition from large cars to crossovers and SUVs which is no surprise. Now, bring us the Kia Mohave (ala Kia Borrego) which would be a solid flagship replacement for the K900 here in the States. I guarantee it would sell better than the K900 ever did. This vehicle is BOF btw

The bottom line is it just doesnt sell enough here to make it worthwhile for them to sell it. Keeping the V8 wouldnt have changed that.

People who buy Kias don't care about exclusive.
