lol, anddddd
one of the reasons I love my 2010 LS, I dont touch the nav screen because I dont want to scratch it its pefect
I use ***** on my radio that moves like fine watch jewelry
I have a v8 under foot
I dont feel crammed in with head room
this is why Lexus IS brilliant, simplicity, and user centric

Not for everyone. Some people really don’t care. She wanted a complete touchscreen when her least was up...no joystick whatsoever.
My new 21 4R, there is too much stuff on the touchscreen...it’s like a solution to problem that I never had before. I would despise to have any joy stick.

the point is to have a system in the Ls500 with technology that is sub par and goes against the grain of what the Lexus brand was built on is unacceptable.. its the best out there for the last 10 years
and here is another:
your driving in the new Ls500 or the New ES
you want to go from normal mode to eco or sport or sport plus
really take your hand off wheel, and eye off road to turn a **** 20 degrees higher off steering wheel??
another ergonomic failure that mimics the sentiment that someone has lost the ability to provide cutting edge technology and interface

Having had cars with both, I much prefer a joystick to a touchscreen. I think the best approach is to have both.

I think there are ways to determine what is overall the best product or platform, and that doesnt mean everyone will prefer whats the "best". I stand by the statement that iDrive has the best infotainment layout currently in the industry, and thats a viewpoint that is typically shared by car reviewers, etc. That doesnt mean everyone will prefer iDrive.
You mentioned your sister wanted a touchscreen implying that was her main issue. That issue has been solved.
For instance, I feel confident that Microsoft makes the best word processing and spreadsheet applications in the industry. Doesn't mean there aren't people who don't prefer other far less adopted programs.

Watched the video today
Was uncanny that their ls460 was a 2009 AWD & air suspension
I have that exact car, but mine has over 220k miles while theirs had 80k
I have driven the LS500 and had the same conclusions they did (would not even consider for my next car)
I will eventually get a 2015-2017 MB s550. Like the night vision, quieter smoother ride, better handling, driver assist, DVD changer and design
I think they will drop the LS500 in the near future due to lack of sales
