Most non-enthusiast car owners don’t know anything at all about cars.

I think many people know about FWD. those living in a snow belt region will almost overwhelming know. There is also the added issue with size and cost, very few RWD cars will match the interior efficiency compared to a similar size FWD. just look at a IS/GS vs a ES, the ES size and packaging is far superior. Look at the inefficient back seat of a G70 and tell me people won’t notice vs a ES350? Most older folks also know and will remember that FWD was a big selling point in the 80s....the younger folks do not remember this.

Not when it comes to RWD, but obviously there was enough of a demand for AWD for Lexus to make an AWD ES.

i'm sure the fact that the G70 is a FOOT shorter in length than the ES350 is more of a factor.

Well, it is luxury transportation for those people and it is not their priority to learn the know how. What matter is reliability and value.

This is a MDX thread, not ES, Buick, G70 sedan thread.
MDX prototype is supposed to debut Oct 14.

Interior Teaser. If you don't like the TLX you won't like this

How does this get a digital gauge cluster when the TLX doesn't?

Why does it seem to have the Honda/Acura pushbutton gearshift, AND a gearshift?

I think that's a wrist-wrest for the track pad, which is immediately in front of it.

I think you're seeing the palm rest for using the TrueTouch pad controller.

They should have just copied the e-tron shifter/palm-wrist pad

i think this looks significantly more cohesive and less busy/klingon-like than the tlx.
and screen gauge clusters are definitely going mainstream now.
