The Type S is going to be more than $15K over the Palisade/Telluride, MSRP to MSRP.
Calling it adequate is not extreme. I'll drop the barely, but it's powertrain is still one of the twins weaker points on an otherwise well built and priced vehicle. I've only driven one, but I found it sluggish.

The SH-AWD option on the MDX is also huge advantage. I'd like to see Acura push it more like Audi does with Quattro, BMW xDrive, Mercedes 4Matic etc..

Also very inefficient on fuel consumption.

Laugh all you want. I would never buy an SUV without AWD/4WD. That added traction especially on a wet day inspires more confident driving.

Point was Acura should be putting SH-AWD on all their cars like Audi does with Quattro. This in turn could help differentiate them a little more from parent Honda.

Besides the ILX almost every new launch is doing exactly that.

Do people really buy crossovers and suvs with 2WD?

They wouldn't make them if people didn't buy them. Particularly in the South.

lease specials, warmer climates, and the idea that it doesnt really cost them much more to produce a FWD vehicle with a trick awd setup.

Very mild and agreeable styling. This will sell extremely well for the brand.

Specs and features of 22 MDX by trim level posted on MDX forum. No massage seats but someone posted that this feature, along with others will be on Type S that will be released later in 2021.

NorCal. We have foothills, beaches / coast, mountains, the valley. Every terrain within about 3 hours of the Bay Area.

hey i totally agree that if the option is there and not too much of a $ difference, get awd.

for my explorer and jgc, i couldn't justify the additional cost which would be of little value in florida. sure we have some heavy rain, but i'm rarely out in a downpour and even then mostly on flat highways.
