I'll give you an example. I would enthusiastically buy an MDX for my wife and for family duty. Happily drive it on trips, etc. I would never buy one for me as my car, I would want something like an X7, GLS, Range Rover, etc. Its just not the caliber of car that I myself want.

For MOST people though, the MDX is a great vehicle and even at that price it has positives for them over a more "proper" premium vehicle, packaging and space is a big one.

For packaging and space... there wasn't a comparison. You just get more space w/ a FWD based vehicle. Unless we were willing to step up to a bigger SUV the MDX was the goldilocks of gimpy 3 row SUV's.

Maybe they've attained it, but the IDEA is still preposterous. Simple test: Ask an engineer "What would you add to a vehicle to make it go faster?" See how many say, "Height!"

Even 119 years later, this quote still holds up

Things move along so rapidly nowadays that people saying: “It can’t be done,” are always being interrupted by somebody doing it.

new 9000 pound and tall (and overall massive) hummer says 'hold my beer' heck a tesla model x is an suv that can blow the doors off most anything in a straight line.

Leave it to Acura to screw up something this simple with the new TLX.
