Type S output still TBD, and says Type S arrives Spring 2021, while regular TLX trims arrive this Fall. Pricing "starts in the mid $30's"

Interesting to see that it's actually gotten larger to become a full-fledged midsize sedan. With the RLX killed off, that gave it room to grow. Wheelbase is now 113 inches, length is 195 inches, and width is a whopping 75.2 inches. I like the more RWD proportions and reduced front overhang, though it's still a transverse FWD setup.

This won't be a replacement for the GS, but it's definitely the only option left for those who don't want an ES and refuse to consider Korean or European brands.

Interior packaging is terrible though. For the car to grow that much and still have only 93 cubic feet of space (1 less than a 3-Series) is pathetic, especially from a transverse FWD layout. Hope the price reflects the compact segment more than the midsize, otherwise the TLX will be buried alive.

Nice improvement overall but nothing to move the needle in this segment.

A bit surprised that the V6 is not optional but only for TypeS model.

The interior is virtually a copy of the RDX which had been out now for 2-3yrs.

Looking forward to the new Mazda6 as it may be great matchup.

Interior actually looks pretty different to me so far, especially the center stack area, different vents compared to the RDX. Not like new BMW interior designs throughout the range that look virtually identical from 3 series to 8 series.

I think if it is priced right and not too high the Type S will really move the needle, certainly in the Japanese lux/performance segment where there are hardly any 350+hp options under 60K that put the performance down.

RWD Mazda 6 is a ways off and I doubt it will be pushing the power/performance like the Type S.

Q50 Red Sport still exists with 400 HP, and so does the Genesis G70 with 365 HP (which is getting an even more powerful 380 HP 3.5 V6 next year). And both of these options are RWD. On paper, the TLX won't be winning any awards for performance under $60K, if it even is under 60K for the Type S.

Looks pretty compelling overall. But as I feared, that center console layout pretty much closes the door on the possibility of an MT.

Looks same to me!

Mazda6 will have turbo Inline6 engine which im sure will make at least what this Acura V6 makes. Inline 6s are more robust design and can handle more power easier than a V6.

Considering the TypeS will only come out in Spring 2021 as a 2022MY - I don’t think its too much time before new Mazda6 is out which should also be next year.

Given how well reviewed the current-gen Honda Accord is, the TLX hopefully one-ups that! Happy to see the turbo-2L is the standard engine and really excited to learn more about the Turbo 3L V6 for the Type S...

Both the G70 and Q50 have just AWD They should have stuck the GTR AWD system in and called it GTR AWD!!! lol.

The new TLX does look pretty good.

I like SH-AWD, but it's no substitute for a rear-biased AWD system with a balanced longitudinal engine layout behind the front axle like the G70/Q50. Especially now that the TLX has gotten substantially bigger, I would expect the handling dynamics to be more like an Audi S6 than an S4.

There was a test maybe in 2008 pitting the 4th gen TL SH-AWD vs the G35x, 335ix, and S4. And the Acura handily beat all three on a track. SH-AWD is no joke
