IS 350 started at 42K, mid 40's for one decently equipped which is where I saw most priced at, at the dealerships, no reason they can't put the V8 in it for around 10K more which is still a very significant premium. I don't really care about the way overpriced high option packages most people don't get and heavily inflates the price, The 4th gen GSh hybrid went all the way to 70K, nobody bought them especially at that price nor did it make any sense to pay that much for a 4th Gen GS
Check out the press release if you missed it..
When you have a $55,400 IS 350 F Sport with DHP on the lot, it's the way the cars were ordered and placed for each region.. And will stick to RWD region as AWD will be more and doesn't come with LSD..
Just trying to keep apples to apples that's all..

That's not the argument I was responding to, which was that pricing any IS500 at $60k+ means it'll be a failure. So the point is that even using the optimistic numbers provided, that would mean $58,500 under the assumption that there is zero further allowance for even one single additional feature in the comparison. Yet $60k is a failure. That $1500 is really going to make that much difference? Seems completely unrealistic, which is why the posts I was responding to make no sense.
BTW, just to clarify, I fully believe that this IS500 as currently presented by Lexus will be a total flop at 60k. But it's not solely because of the price.

If people are buying an m340i I’m sure theyll buy the is500, esp if the price is a a few thousand dollars from the m340 price.
yes undercutting an m3 by $10k does make a difference. $58,500 to $60k doesn’t matter. It’ll be around $60k starting. fully loaded w/ all the extra packages at around $69k. Add CF nonsense, if offered, it’ll get into $70 to $80k range. Either way it’s undercutting the M3 by $10 to $15k. So a fully loaded is500 at $69k and a nicely equipped one for $64k asking Is a good price point. Knock 10% off bc you can always get 10% off and it’s a great deal and at a price point no other car is really competing at.
let’s see how it drives, which, if it has the same dynamics as the GSF and RCF, will be a great driver oriented car with enough utility to use as a daily.

I think you missed the part where the V8 is installed into a top trim IS 350 F SPORT with DHP package and other options that will be found on the IS 500.. It's not going into a base IS 350 / F Sport

Well I guess you can get one with No Sunroof, No Nav, No ML, No Tripple Headlamps,
No options ???
It has to be an F SPORT PERFORMANCE with DHP as standard..
Most IS F's came fully loaded.. Few rare birds were built with No Sunroof or Nav

That's not what I asked. I'm aware dealers often order based on customer preference especially regarding tech but my question was are the IS500s going to come to show rooms fully loaded only? As in no avaliable options.

Maybe I missed it, but has anything been said about 0-60 times? I thought I recall the former IS-F did it around 4.5 seconds. I'd assume this would be faster with the engine improvements or about the same with the heavier car?

This is after all the IS500 F-Sport Performance and not the IS500 F-Sport Luxury/Prestige.

That's one of the reasons why I was saying that it doesn't make sense to use the base IS MSRP or anecdotes about the sticker on random IS vehicles on dealer lots when attempting to make a case for the eventual IS500 pricing.

My expectation is that it will come standard with the F-Sport package like it stated in the press release. All other options related to the IS350 F-Sport will be just that..optional.

DHP Package = $0 "Standard"
Infrared = $595
Navigation / ML = $2,750
Premium Tripple Beam HL = $1,400
Power Moonroof = $1,100
Park Assit, Rear Ped Detect & Pano View Montitors = $1400
More or Less they are not putting them in the show room stripped down.. It's not the business model.

I can’t imagine there will be many options. However, some have said Lexus IS drumming at its own best...so you never know. I never would have expected this engine would return and I sure never expected it to be called an F sport not an F.

You are right, it totally defeats it in every performance metric possible and it's why the LS/LT is the most swapped engine ever

Gonna go out on a limb and say that is a little disappointing. To come all this way, bringing back the hot rod engine, giving it more power, but still the same quickness as 2008. I think we are just spoiled, as 4.5 is nothing to sneeze at.
A well-optioned S4 seems like a compelling combination of speed and price. Hopefully Lexus prices it close to that ($55k).
