i don't think it's an "is500 f-sport" i think it's the full blown is-f they're bringing back.
I thought Lexus said going forwards, that V8s would only be in their top of the line models like the LC, LS and LX or full F cars? Also, like Motorola said, the teaser pic says "F-Sport" and not "F".

Therefore from the above 2 clues, seems like the vehicle being hinted at is probably an IS500 F-Sport and it won't have a V8 and thus by elimination, it will carry a boosted V6.

Except that's the same cover used on their V8's. This speculation of an IS F-Sport makes zero sense when the IS F-Sport already exists.

I am 99% certain this is an LC500 F-Sport- no new engines, just a sportier exterior package and some suspension tweaks like every other F-Sport vehicle.

My guess is this will be some limited edition mostly appearance package stuff with maybe a small HP bump I’d guess 15 more HP or so.

That’s mostly a meme perpetuated by YouTube personalities. It’s funny because they all focus on the same thing which is weight and the touchpad.

Whereas anyone that owns one has nothing but positives to say.

Good point. I cant recall, did the report about Lexus reserving the V8 for only top end models came directly from lexus? If not, it may not be true and this might in fact be a is500 F-Sport with the V8. I thought it was known that the 10 speed couldn't fit in the IS. So perhaps the V6TT with the 8 speed?

Your point about the IS F-Sport already existing doesn't make sense since there was a is250 F-Sport and a is350 F-Sport. So why can't there be a is500 F-Sport?

As pointed out previously, Lexus said they are reserving the V8 for top end models. So if this is true then it could be the V6TT in the IS, however, the engine cover is the same as the V8. thus your guess of the LC500 F-Sport does make sense based on the info we have.

1. Because if it uses the same V8 as the GS-F as the teaser shows, it won't be a mere F-Sport.
2. An IS500 F-Sport would necessitate an IS500 existing. It doesn't outside of some trademark filed years ago. More importantly, the teaser would focus not on a mere F-Sport trim if it was that significant of an announcement.

Don't let the Best Car poison give you any false hopes. This is almost guaranteed to be an LC500 F-Sport. Maybe using some of the body moldings from the now-canned LCF.

I agree that it's likely an LC500 F Sport but I would not say that an IS500 F Sport necessitates an IS500. There is currently an IS350 F Sport but no IS350 (non F Sport).

It was a slight tongue in cheek joke Paul playing on the medocrity of the current lexus lineup along with my opinion. Lol. I don't know what car they are teasing with that engine picture and I'm not claiming it to be an LC500, but I hope it is an IS with a V8. And the only way that can work is if it's a IS500 F-Sport.

You're correct, but prior to the refresh the IS 350 could be had without the F-Sport badge. There has been zero precedent for an IS500. If a IS500 F-Sport were to be announced, Lexus wouldn't tease it with an image of a badge that could already be had on the current IS.

Like I said, I agree that it's more likely an LC500, I just wanted to point out the lack of a standard IS350 in the current lineup.

I get your points and I've always been a bit of an optimist to a fault. As mentioned, there is no longer an is350 non F Sport. No reason to have a non F Sport is500. Look at bmw, they don't have a 340i and a m340i. It's just m340i, just like it would be a F Sport is500.

With the way lexus has been operating you're correct in assuming it's likely the lc500 F Sport. But my gut says this may be something more.

The only things I can oppose on about the teaser image is:
1. The is350 f sport doesn't have F-Sport badge on its engine cover
2. The teaser image was only shared with lexus enthusiasts forum (not a major auto outlet)".

If I was a betting man I would agree and bet it would be a lc500 F Sport.

The LC500 already has the same engine used in the RCF & GSF, with a few minor tweaks- Double intake in LC vs single intake, different exhaust system. Because of the dual intake the engine cover from the F models wont fit the LC.

Good point. I forgot the LC500 has a different engine cover.

It's easier and more cost-effective to modify how an engine cover fits than designing an IS500.
