Sounds like general optimization and upkeep, or as software heads would call it bugfixes and improved general performance.

I would agree that more F Sport "Performance Line" Models are coming... But again on what ???

It is the same V8 2UR-GSE engine when the 0-60 doesn't change.. Also the designation didn't change for a reason. Not sure why many struggle with that.

Yeah the HP got a small bump and minor tweaks were done through the years that were clearly needed.
If anyone wants wants the spec sheet changes lmk..!!

Actually here it is : https://global.yamaha-motor.com/jp/d...wse/51gs01.pdf

Lexus USA is doing its best to save the F / F Sport Brand..

But if Akio Toyoda doesn't rubber stamp a next F car that makes sense - not sure the RC F can keep carrying the weight alone.

It has already reached its 7 year cycle.

F-Sport Performance is US team venture available only in US. It's kind of obvious it's their fight back or compromise with Toyota HQ that seems to be eager to ditch F cars development all together. Who knows maybe Lexus USA has something in saving that twin turbo V8 and putting it in vanilla cars as LC F-Sport Performance. I just find it astonishing that you spend hundreds of millions in developing LC-F and then the board just votes to drop it when its 98% done. Its either that or they got stuck with the development and couldn't engineer it to be up to par.

They do sell the 2UR-GSE throughout the world. Lexus LC500 convertible comes only in V8...sold in Europe

Not a fan of this color as it’s played out when Kia and Hyundai has it as standard. Its going to look very dated in a few years. The only other item i wish Lexus did was put special seats in this model. The base seats from IS are not special or supportive enough for «performance » model.

Pricing will be huge for this model. Hopefully Lexus doesn’t overprice it and /or limit production. I can already guess the games dealers will play if you want one.

Lance, surely you know better than that The Chevy small block has overhead valves and a cam that is located in the block with the valves operated by push rods..

It is not uncommon for the Japanese automakers to just kill something they put so much money and effort into right before it goes into production, it is normally enthusiast/performance cars/engines that get the chop too. Honda developed a V10 and front engine sports car with mostly finalized prototypes being driven around Europe to kill it for good after the financial crash in 2008, Honda also killed a RWD V8 RL replacement along with it and possibly a S2000 replacement at about the same time. In hindsight they should have released all those vehicles because they had nothing when the market recovered.

I've cleaned this thread up removing a bunch of recent off topic and personal commentary. Let's keep this on the new IS500 please.

Guess will have to wait for Cooper Ericksen or Andrew Gilleland (from TMNA) to actually confirm what the next "F" will actually be..

Here are a couple more different & informative clear videos..

From the MY22 IS 500 F Sport Performance Launch Edition Event, they are both speakers in these videos, with Townsend Bell.

Part 2

Part 3

Best to call your favorite Lexus dealer and put a deposit in...or at least get on their interest list.
