Second Car - Help Needed!

Congrats! Welcome to the Audi family lol. Looks stunning. I've always liked the sleeper look of the S4, especially with Nardo grey, but that red interior really pops! Very few companies make interiors like Audi. Enjoy thoroughly.

thank you! i know the beauty of this car is understated, but that's really what drew me to it in the first place and it's one hell of a ride better than the bmw. it's hand-down class leading when speaking both the interior and the technology - both are stunning.
thanks, mike! i wholeheartedly agree with you. the salesman who i had been corresponding with online for like the past week and a half was trying and trying to get me to launch the vehicle hard and i was like no way in hell am i doing that to a car that i'm about to buy. i can't emphasize enough how much i follow and take seriously the break-in period.
^^^^^ My Hearty Congratulations...............I'm keeping my promise. And I see you found one with the red interior you wanted.
I'm sure you are going to enjoy it, despite any ribbing you've taken from other posters here.
Since it's a performance-car, I know you're probably eager to punch it once or twice. Some people may tell you there's no need for a formal break-in any more.....I disagree. The engineers still put the requirement in the Owners' Manual, usually for around 500 miles now instead of the former 1000. Take it easy on both engine and brakes for that initial period, then you can drive it with a little more gusto if you want.

i'm having it clearbra-ed next week!
thanks, steve! i waited today JUST to see what the new c-class would look like and it's no doubt a handsome sedan, but the entire thing being controlled by the giant tablet in the center, while well-executed, just didn't do it for me. i want the tech in the car, but i want it to not be so ostentatious. the tech is actually pretty amazing in this vehicle with google earth being able to be seen in the central gauge cluster as well as infotainment screen! super cool!
thank you! i do agree that audi makes some of the most stunningly luxurious interiors for the price point of any manufacturer out there - totally feels like i'm in a baby s8. mercedes also does this well with the c-class and e-class, i have to admit.

it does and the saleman wanted me to use it on the test drive!!! and i was like hellllll no, i'm gonna purchase this car potentially. do you have a car that i can abuse to test it in? to which he shut up. it'll be fun once the piston rings have seated properly, but i'm taking all precautions and advice re: the break-in period.

Funny I was test driving a new X7 M50i and the first thing I did was launch the crap out of it, twice. I had to see how it pulled if I am going to get one. Salesman had no issues and didn’t even know it had launch control.
As for the interior of your car, I always thought it was best in class with the seat stitching, the gauge cluster and the carbon fiber trim. Good luck with it.

So i was catching up on this thread before i got to the part where you bought it (congrats!), and as i was reading your agonizing over whether it was fast enough, or too plain, etc., and how the x2 didn't do it for you any more, and i was thinking, hang on, this is the guy who posted about that x2, less than SIX MONTHS AGO, and you were gushing about it, and how it was the fastest car you'd ever driven. Here:
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/car...w-x2-m35i.html
And you got that car by selling your previous 2020 x2 and your 2018 lexus is300 AND your acura ilx - dealers must absolutely LOVE you!
But then over a week ago, i did post this:
Actually, davyjordi also posted the "cars won't make you happy" thread.
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/car...you-happy.html
But all that kidding aside, CONGRATS, and i hope you keep it more than 6 months.

as for the cars won't make you happy, they won't. that was a philosophical posting more of a literal one - materialism vs. the intangible and the ethereal.

and that's gutsy. i wouldn't launch a car that has an engine that hasn't been broken in that i was seriously considering buying. three-fourths throttle at most. i probably was at three-fourths for a moment or two while on my super extensive test drive. i even drove past my own house - the test drive was easily 30-35 minutes or even a bit longer because i REAALLY wanted to make sure that this car was going to be comfortable, offer the performance i wanted, and lived up to its baby s8 status and it proved to do all of those things really well!
