going back to this - have you tuned your vws? i have heard that tuned golf Rs and GTIs tend to blow up haha. i'm not sure how well they fare on the audi side of things.

I knew it!

Congrats, love the color combo! Audi has some really nice leathers in Red and Brown (ours is the latter), nice to see more seats that aren't boring black. I also much prefer those capacitive switches and display ***** for the climate control over the goofy second touchscreen they're putting in some models now. I assume the answer is yes, but does yours have the sport rear differential? That will make a huge difference in the handling/feel vs. most anything you've likely driven.

See you back here in the fall?

thanks! it does have the sport rear diff as it's the prestige model and it came along with that optional package in the lesser trims.

no, you won't see me back in the fall because i did put a significant amount down on this car, so while there will likely be no negative equity at the time i trade it in, i'm much more heavily invested in this car and all for the experience. if i were to be paying german luxury car prices, i might as well enjoy an opulent cabin with a serene ride that will stiffen up via the adaptive suspension that my car has with the flip of the drive mode switch.

it's a cool car and there is a lot more aftermarket support for it if i do want to have it tuned later down the line. a jb4 is always an option but it's not one i'm considering right now. lowering springs that work with the adaptive suspension are also an option but i'm afraid of ruining the absolutely beautiful ride quality -- an absolute must that i had when looking for a replacement for the harsh-riding bmw.

and yes, the red, quilted leather is fantastic!

Congrats on the car. I hope to see a new thread documenting your ownership experience (hopefully with a few more pics). The grey on red leather would have been my first pick. No way I would settle with blue on black.

Quick question, did they miss anything on the PDI? Tire pressures adjusted, all equipment included, etc.?

I’m standing outside of the tint shop that we go to waiting to be picked up while the car is tinted and decided to take a few better photos. The quality of the vehicle is phenomenal compared to the BMW. The small details make all the difference. And omg, the bang and olufsen sound system is amazing. It’s just an overall by far superior vehicle. I’m glad to not have to deal with a turbocharged inline four anymore either as the turbo v6 is buttery smooth and effortless in its power delivery.

Beautiful. There was a time when I acted like Audi didn't even exist, but I've really grown to love their brand. A bud of mine had a S8, and that thing blew my mind. Amazingly fast for such a big car.

On that note, I'd suggest adding PPF to the interior and exterior piano black pieces as well if they're still in good condition.

the choices thus far are:
the 2021 audi s4
the 2021 volvo s60 recharge t8 inscription or polestar engineered
and the 2021 mb cla amg 35

i realize that all of these are fwd-based, but have differing levels of awd capabilities. i am leaning toward the audi just because i feel as though it's better built than the volvo and is more capable with it's i6 vs the i4 in the mb. the volvo is interesting for sure, although i know depreciation hits volvos hard and i'm not sure about the turbo/supercharged/electrified powertrain over the course of around 5-6 years. i feel like it's about to be redesigned if not dropped altogether soon whereas the s4 was just refreshed in 2020 and the cla amg 35 was an all-new model for 2021. honestly, i don't think the cla deserves to be considered but my mate does, so there ya have it.

we aren't considering any other mb model because mb tends to bloat their newest offerings as does bmw with the 3 series (the 3 series is also weirdly slab-sided). we also want to stay in the compact executive/luxury class of vehicles.

the max price for the vehicle is 60k or thereabout. am i missing anything? the lexus is350 is out of the picture as i don't like the new styling the brand is taking, with that vehicle at least. the vehicle must also be from a luxury marque.
You didn't need help afterall. Nice Car man hope it gives you years of safe and enjoyable driving.

I'm so happy with the purchase - the combo is fantastic and the prestige package is great. They didn't miss anything on the PDI - the entire experience was amazing.

yeah, the car is brand new, so i can ask the guy who is installing XPEL next week to do the interior pieces as well.

i never really considered audi either until recently when i discovered how absolutely beautiful their interiors were. the interior was half of the battle, the understated looks and the performance were the other half. such a great place to spend time.

Shes a beaut! Tint will really set it off.

Audis are great. Whats kept me out of an Audi are their poor leases since I lease for business. A8 was $200 a month more than my S560 despite being $15,000 cheaper.
