2022 Lexus NX: Available as first plug-in hybrid

No, it's a 2.4 liter turbo. The only trim that will come close to a V6 in performance will be the 450h, which uses the same setup as the RAV4 Prime.
Overall, there's really nothing here that most of us didn't already predict when it was leaked months ago. This is mechanically a RAV4 with a Lexus body shell and what appears to be a much better infotainment system.

I can't believe they're offering the base Rav 4 engine, while I laud them for keeping/upgrading the turbo 4 cylinder. Can't wait to hear more about this 2.4L...wondering where else it will end up.

This is a very well done product. Exterior looks like a Mazda, not sure I like it the exterior. Interior is well done. Four different powertrain options Wireless car play. Full time awd. The new predictive hybrid tech is pretty neat. Love the steering wheel
A BIG sales hit by Lexus here.

As do I. Toyota was a bit slow to this transition. Though honestly, I can see the buyers that had to have a V6 dying out and the younger gen. being more able to embrace fewer cylinders.

I am amazed by how far car makers have taken 4 cylinder engines. They'll never sound great at high rpms but they certainly get the job done and are very tolerable and usable in regular driving.
there's really little point to an NA v6 any longer. Of course some makers like chrysler/jeep/stellantis will keep using the NA Pentastar V6 for as long as they can - a very good engine by the way. It's 3.6L so provides good power (just under 300hp in most applications).

I'm sure it's taken a long time to get the 2.4T from lexus because they put so much into reliability... hoping it's great.

I think the 2.4T is meant to be more of a replacement for the old 2.0T, which wasn't that powerful of an engine. 0-60 in 6.8 seconds for a compact like the NX is much slower than similar rivals with their turbo 4-pots.
Given the high torque numbers, Lexus more likely tuned the engine for smoothness rather than outright power. Or at least as smooth as you can get for a 4 cylinder.

I suspect the actual real world 0 to 60 timings may be faster. They have also quoted a 6 sec 0-60 for the plug in model which can do much better than that as we have seen from the RAV4 prime. I agree however making the fastest 0 to 60 is just not something Lexus/ Toyota tend to prioritize & neither do most people shopping in this segment
The RAV4 Prime's official 0-60 in 5.7 seconds, so the NX with its extra sound deadening adds to the weight and makes it slower.
