I'm with UDel....but we have to be careful to not to drag the thread into politics.

There is no news source that doesn't have bias anymore. Especially the Times. The NYT public editor went on TV and outright said that it is biased and said it was justified because it reflects their readership in an urban environment. I would never trust anything I read from them. When someone tells you they are spinning the info they give you, you should believe them.

Sad. Because we really need some honesty back in the media. Nobody can be trusted.

As for Tiger, it's really unbelievable that he wasn't tested for drugs considering his history. I like him and what he does on the golf course, but he has issues. This may be a blessing in disguise. Nothing like a near death to make you to re-evaluate your life decisions and force life changes.

Why? Whatever mistakes he's made in life, he's still a professional golfer. And, as a professional golfer, he knows better than to mess with drugs. You aren't going to make a Hole-in-One from 300 yards away with that stuff in your system.

Maybe because he was found out on the side of the road in his car passed out with 5 different drugs in his system, including 2 that are banned by the PGA. That was about 4 years ago.

The police didn't likely have Tiger's rap sheet when they were determining at the scene whether, or not, a drug recognition expert (DRE) was called for. However, the seriousness of the accident certainly called for a DRE! I believe the cops cut him a break as they might for any rich, influential person or celebrity.

As with his 2009 accident when the police tested him and found five different drugs, legal and illegal, in his system, they likely would have found a similar mix this time. (BTW...had he hit and killed somebody, the blood-drug test would have been mandatory.) The types of drugs that Tiger uses, sleeping pills and muscle relaxers (tranquilizers) could have easily cause him to fall asleep, even at 7 am. The accident investigators initially looked at all the available evidence and determined Tiger was likely asleep, or "sleep-driving," and I have no reason to believe otherwise. The black box data which now indicates "speeding" was the issue is simply a cover-up on the decision to not call in a DRE at the scene of the accident. The first impact of the vehicle crossing the center divide could have shifted Tiger's weight forward, causing his foot to press the accelerator 99%.

I believe the NY Post was the first to break the stories about TW and his off course "transgressions" so they aren't completely without merit when it comes to TW news! haha That said, the headline looked like click-bait to me.

There are many reasons how/why the accident could have occured, but I guess only TW really knows, but it doesn't sound like he has any recollection so I think we just go with the reports say and move on. Out of all the possibilities, and as a big TW fan, I just hope it's not maybe the most sinister one of them all...

At that speed, it might be your last thought, too.

That he'd try to take his own life. I really don't think that'd be the case though, but you never know I guess...?

The amount of speculation going on here is ridiculous, what is the point?
