Toyota bZ4X and Subaru Solterra

The 160 miles highway range is not good as a road tripper, but surprised the bZ4X's highway efficiency (86 mpge) was better than the ID.4 RWD (82 mpge).
The ID.4 AWD would probably be even less efficient.
Model Y Long Range with 94 mpge is the best.
Definitely would only consider the FWD bZ4X at this point for better efficiency, faster charging and more range compared to the AWD version.

People should be warned not to buy this vehicle unless it is their city car only.
As we mentioned before, Tesla is doing ok too, nothing crazy good. Model S has caught up with some of the best and hopefully newer versions of 3 will go back to faster charging.

I really like these, but the range is disappointing to me. If it can really only get 160 miles on the freeway, it wouldn't work. I'm looking at a new job with a significant commute - 80 miles each way. I figured it's time for an electric (if I take the job), and really like these, but this range won't cut it.

I see a Polestar 2 in your future . The 2023 gets a 260 mile range, realistically you would get 220/230 miles on a 90 percent charge. Once you feel that 408 HP/487 ft-lbs torque and you beat that first BMW M at the light or on-ramp with no sweat, there's no going back Fast charging from 10 to 80 percent would be around 25 to 30 minutes

Well, AWD is not usable at all due to terrible charging. FWD should be 50% better? But I am still worried of charging after 80%.

Solterra in Europe gets the faster charging Panasonic battery with 20-80% charging in 19 minutes.
So aimed at China first, then Europe and finally the US.
No wonder they are only making a couple thousand for the US this year.
Not sure if I should keep my Solterra order along with the Model Y.

Its really slow...hit 0-60 in 6.3s but 0-100 mph took 18.5s. So 60-100mph took 12.2s? They geared it to 60 at the expense of top end. Highway passing will be a chore.
160 miles of real world range at 100% charge isn't great. So Toyota EPA vs real world is about what Tesla advertises and gets. At least Tesla offers way more range to offset highway range loss and charges way faster. 160 miles is what i get when i drive the canyons and mountain passes on my favorite routes early in the morning. Yikes.

This thing would feel like you hit a wall past 60 if you have ever driven anything even somewhat fast. I know EVs drop off but come on now.....at least Tesla carries the power well into the 100+ range

Holy hell that 60-100 is bad.......my 60-120 in my Audi is 7.7, the 460 pulls off 60-100 in about 6, even a 430 does it in under 10.

Tesla M3P max speed is 163 mph. It is completely different vehicle.
