You might want to look up Jackie ding and his a90 supra who is winning the modified street class in GTA.

It was a plan all along for the joint project to ever be successful.

I'm surprised I don't see more of them. Been waiting a long time for them to make one, as I suspected many others were doing. Yeah it looks a little funny but certainly sporty enough to appeal many.
And I don't think the reason is because its a "Zupra" either.
If they anticipated a lot of sales in the first place they wouldn't of partnered with BMW.

I wonder how it's doing compared to their projections. Not like there's many of them sitting around on the lot right. Maybe it's selling exactly the way they anticipated? And I don't think the 4 cylinder was a mistake it's so common in sport cars. However, if I were to be able to get one it's not the engine I would choose.

Wernt they doing a turbo 6 version with way more power? Did they do that? I'm not even following the development there.

Glad to see I’m not the only Zupra here . I’m still learning the car but had no trouble keeping up with the 991 on LA canyon runs.

The 991.2 with AWD however..

The power I had could not be put to the ground except for on the straights, and in the sharp turns and sweepers, I had to keep modulating throttle so my back end wouldn't go out.

Having said all of that, I was disgusted originally when they introduced the 4 banger Zupra. But after my last trackday, I can definitely see how a lighter, more balanced Zupra would probably keep up with me at the track. Still doesn't change my mind they should of never done it though... :X
What are your mods so far? Was your buddy in a 2021 by chance?

FWIW, one of my friends has a new Supra. He got rid of his aging Z3 for it. He loves it. He also has no desire to drive a manual anymore.

I see Supras a lot here, but they seem to always be I6 models (based on the wheels anyway).

In our 330i, the B48 is a fantastic engine. It pulls nicely and has pretty nearly zero turbo lag. I could only imagine it works well in the Supra. I would say, however, that I do sorta expect I6 power from the Supra name... But, I don't think it would stop me from test-driving a four-cylinder model.

Interesting and surprisingly stock. Although I don't even want to guess how much $$$ he put into it.

What kind of racing is this? I'd like to watch something like that. Is it production car racing? Touring?

Thanks

Absolutely. This is exactly why I chose to heavily modify my IS350 rather than move onto a IS-F or the even heavier RC-F.

Add me to the list here. I'm also a former MKIV Supra owner and while I loved the allure of that car, the MKV Supra is a dynamically better driver's car as the collaboration between BMW and Toyota produced one of the best sport cars of this final generation of ICE powered cars.

The chassis of the LC is a whole a different world compared to the IS…Tnga is a really good chassis.

The LC's low center of gravity also helps with the handling in that regard. It keeps the V8 from causing body-lean and stressing the front tires.
