new car prices are up through the roof
#31
I've been going through this challenge right now. I have a deposit down to hold a Tundra while I decide if I want it or not, because putting a deposit down before it arrives at the dealer is the only way you can get one right now. And they were clear that they will not negotiate on prices. They said all Siennas, Tundras, and Tacomas go for MSRP and negotiations will not be considered on those cars. Where I do come in ahead is with my trade in. I'm waiting on their offer to come in, but KBB lists my Tacoma at $45k and I paid $41k for it just over a year ago.

For the heck of it, I entered my LS into Carvana, Vroom and CarMax to see what they would offer.
My car is a 2013 Lexus LS L AWD with most options, except executive seating. I have about 48,500 miles and condition is good (a couple chips and a scratch on the trunk lid). I put that all in each website.
The results were the following:
Definitely seems that even a used LS has increased in value over the past year. Either way, this is paid off and I have no interest in buying anything new for a while. 👍

- Carvana was the highest at $31,655
- Carmax and Vroom were the same at $28,500
