Default Armor All Brake Dust repellent is LEGIT

There was a discussion in my 7500 mile update thread on my S560 about the heavy brake dust and this product. So I ordered some from Amazon, and washed the car and tried it out on my trip to WV for the 4th of July. Now, normally on this trip the front wheels would be BLACK with brake dust. With this product, they look no different than the rear wheels. Truly amazing!

This is the car parked at my brothers right before I left to come home yesterday. This is a 360 mile highway trip and probably 60 miles of back country driving with heavy braking. Normally the front wheels would be noticeably black compared to the rears after one normal days driving. Really amazing. Home now after the 360 mile drive back and it looks exactly the same. You can see a couple places up close where I missed applying the product and those areas are black. I will get close ups of that later today.

Fine. But are you still getting the same braking performance you did before? Depending on the composition of the brake pads, less dust can sometimes mean less friction (and less wear) between the pads and rotors....and less stopping power, which can make a difference in a large heavy sedan like an S-class.

The repellent goes on the wheels, not the brakes. The brakes are unaffected, the dust just doesnt cling to the wheels like it did before.

Wow, 360 miles and no noticeable dust, very impressive! I will need to order some. Both my wife's BMW and my IS 350 are brake dust machines especially on the front wheels, and especially on that BMW. You have convinced me.

Here's a closeup of that I'm talking about, these are a couple areas where I didn't get good coverage spraying the product on and you can see what the whole wheel would have looked like. This was taken this afternoon, so this is after an 800 mile trip.

Thats the way it sits normally, it has a good stance. It is also on uneven ground there.

I have also used this on my cars for years as well. Great product. Makes cleanup a bit easier too.

if you spray this on your wheels on the driveway, do the droplets from overspray from the brake dust repellent leave a stain on the asphalt or concrete like tire shine product do?

Nope, the sprayer is very good and doesn't put any sort of over spray onto the ground or the paint.

It too bad you have to do this. However, glad you found a sound solution. I do wonder if Mercedes does this on purpose for service reasons as a brake service might be required or something. I wonder if the discs and Callipers are dirty inside.
