Lexus ES, Toyota Camry (v6) and Toyota Avalon..same?
Hi gang, how goes it. I currently own a 2009 RX350. I've spent a bit on repairs this year, but she still drives smoothly and has no rust!
i was thinking about what the next car might be? I was thinking that i'd switch back to a sedan.
Even though the 3.5 engine has a few issues, it seems to be a reliable engine.
i thoight about the tree models in the header. In theory...are they pretty much the same car? Maybe the lexus and avalon might have a better fit and finish, but is all the rest the same? Would one be better that the other? Are they the same in terms of size/trunk space?

They all have very different interiors and look pretty different, same or very similar underpinnings, none are all that sporty. I would just test drive them all and see what you like, the ES will be the nicest but you will pay the most for it.

Motorola, i would say 2009-2014. With my 2009 rx350, I experienced the oil line exploding, and as a safety measure i changed the rear vvt line to the newer all metal one. Two days ago i saw a small leak under the car, turned out to be the tranny cooler was leaking so got a new one. I've also changed out the spark plugs and coils. All in all, i like my car, it rides smoothly and has not a speck of rust on it (we have salted roads in winter time). I will keep it for a little longer (i have 211 000km on it).
are there better years of these model cars??
i chose these years as they had relatively less sensors on board and i prefer having a physical key to start the car, not push button start.

2009 to 2012, the ES used the Camry platform. Starting in 2013, the ES is sharing the stretched Camry platform that the Avalon had been using.

ES had push button start from 07 onward.

If you get used to it on a car you drive every day, you will love it. I would never go back to a car with a key, seeing that no cars have them anymore its a non issue...

Yeah, some newer cars are already offering finger detection start without even needing a key on your person. Having a car with a keyhole ignition nowadays is like having a car with a tape deck.

I would just drive them... Us nerds ranting about the minor differences will do little to communicate the feeling of these cars in person. For whatever it's worth, I don't particularly love the years of ES you mentioned and would probably just stick with a Camry or Avalon. The Camry got a major redesign in 2012 that makes the interior far more modern than the prior generation. I had a 2010 Camry, which was a great car, but the interior is very dated now.

Arentz, i'm an "old-school" kinda guy. I don't mind inserting a key fob to start car. It's more of the keep keyfob in pocket, that i'm not crazy about.
i had a 2002 camry before, and i have to say, i really miss it. I love the way it drove.
