Doesnt the TLX use the bones of the also highly praised current gen Accord?

No, the new TLX gets its own bespoke platform. Which unfortunately resulted in it being as large as the BMW 5 Series on the outside and more cramped than a Civic on the inside, while weighing some 500 pounds more than an Accord for no good reason. Embarrassingly, that weight gain also makes it slower than an Accord with the same engine.

They won't even compare. The new Z is going to be a 400 HP track beast. Acura makes underpowered boring cars.

Not sure what Acuras doing but this Integra's going to be almost shooting themselves in the foot. Much lighter weight yet almost as much interior room as the TLX is going to make people not want to move up a size. Cadillac did some good size differentiation with leaving the CT4 same size as ATS but enlargening the CT5, but this Integra/TLX dilemma defo isn't going to help them out.

I had a 05 G35 6MT coupe followed by a 07 TSX 6MT as my weekend fun car. Despite being short on power, I would take the TSX over the G35 without hesitation. Much better steering, shifter and clutch in the Acura.

I’ll grant you Acura went into a slumber for a decade (2009 - 2019), but their recent releases have shown improvement.

The new Z also looks impressive, as have the most recent Nissan refreshes (Sentra and Rogue).

Which Recent releases? The TLX Type S is a total bloated fail.

Lol, I had no idea, every TLX/TL/TSX/CL/Vigor product over the past 30 years has been some derivative of some Accord product produced somewhere in the world, didn't know the finally stopped doing that. If they did a bespoke TLX platform, why not make it RWD based so it can probably compete instead of doing some kind of weird band aid for the deficiencies of a FWD transverse layout?

Yeah, that's what everyone and their mother was asking as well. What's truly mind-boggling is that Acura proportioned the vehicle to have pseudo-RWD proportions by extending the distance between the front wheels and dash. This is why it's longer than a 5 Series while being more cramped than a Civic. And in the end, even THAT failed, because the massive front overhangs totally give away that it's a FWD-based vehicle. Just really bad decisions all around.

I agree the TLX Type S is a fail, and even the regular TLX to a lesser extent due to the large exterior with small interior size. However, the 2019+ RDX and 2022 MDX are pretty good efforts.

Acura actually consistently makes pretty good CUV's, which isn't the worst thing from a sales perspective. They just can't seem to do luxury sedan very well.

That's like saying people aren't going to want to move up in size to an Accord from a Civic.

Not really. The Accord has 10 cubic feet more interior space than the Civic and 3.5 cubic feet more trunk space. The TLX will have 3 cubic feet less interior space than the Integra, and a marginally smaller trunk as well. It's physically larger and more expensive, but is actually a smaller car.

tlx only "physically larger" because of a 3 foot front overhang

Same for the Civic hatchback? Because the Integra they are promoting is a hatchback, which will have more interior usability than a sedan.
