Motor1 says rumor is Mercedes killing almost all V8s for 2022

Agreed. I didn't mean they are going away tomorrow, but on long term road maps they are disappearing for most automakers. We do know for sure that it's confirmed that the AMG C63 is dropping the V8 for Hybrid inline four engines from 2022 onwards, news on the rest of the lineup is unclear and that's why people are confused

I hope Lexus didn't cancel it as that was slated to go into the LC-F. I'd like to see Lexus bring out a performance V8 with turbos and an high performance EV version like Mercedes is doing. I think Mercedes will have a performance V8 option form most of this decade.

Oh but hey, you still have the IS500, a car using the same V8 from half a decade ago designed for and sold only in the North American market because literally every other country in the world would tax the oil out of it.

Where is the non-rumour, confirmation that the LC-F or LS-F is getting made? Where is the new V8 in the new Land Cruiser/LX/Tundra?

Well the GSF is my next car. It's not about speed or how fast I can do the quarter mile, but about a precision built auto that runs as good as it did brand new 20 years later. If I want forced induction, I'll go to the aftermarket (RR Racing)

Oh, so just like the new Lexus V8.
If those vehicles don't exist, then the new Lexus V8 doesn't exist either. Sorry, you can't have one and not the other.
By the way, Lexus never announced a new TTV8 either, so by your reasoning they have no incentive to announce the cancellation of something that they never publicly unveiled.

There was a rumor that Lexus was developing a 4.0L TT 660 HP V8 for this supposed LS-F, but the author also states that it "sounds too good to be true". Might have been on the drawing board at one time, but highly doubtful at this time. So I'll just leave it at that...
