I don't like the exposed cup holders either.

Looks like storage area which it desperately needs.

I also like the current LX interior more, lol. For now at least.

reviews from middle east seem very positive they are speculating about 24 mpg highway..which would be amazing! I still don't see the hybrid option as the tundra got and most likely will come as option in the sequoia too.

The X7 does have an off road package although I am not sure it is available in the U.S. It actually did very well in a comparison test recently.

It's a shame they don't sell enough of these in the U.S. to have multiple engine offerings. I would have been nice to have the V8 for people like you and the V6TT for others that want better gas mileage and mall cruising.

I like both interiors but I have to say, I have always liked the current LX interior and its ergonomics and I believe it has aged well even though I am sure others think it looks outdated. I actually don't mind the joystick controller either.

Ah, looks like it was discontinued for MY21 in the U.S. It did come with skid plates and a electronic diff lock.

Very interesting Japan gets a LX600 version with 18 in wheels and three locking diffs.

It actually make sense. Japan will export it to countries like Pakistan/India. They have special regions where they get free off-roaders or heavily discounted(like 90% discount). Lockers make sense because they will drive them in hot sand, mud and as well as heavy and deep snow.

One thing that does not make sense, for the ABOUT 6 figure price of the car, they should all come with triple lockers. Why? Let the rich/middle class buy these cars and sell them later 10 years down the line. Now every LX which gets bought up, will have lockers and do pretty decent in the off-road community/overland. This way the rich/middle class wont care about 80% of the features in the early life-cycle whilst the enthusiast communities will be satisfied down the road for the next 30 years.

As for the double screen, this is brilliant. I think I recognize the software which is used to program the top screen. Why brilliant for 2 screens? It looks like its built for long-term or off-grid redundancy(Imagine overlanding between siberia to mongolia with little technical/software technician). The screen on bottom looks very old school software(reliability) while the screen on top is modern brand new stuff(camera view).

It retains lots of physical buttons which tells me they want this next generation to last a long time as previous.

The fingerprint sensor looks like it registers the finger-print into the cars computer. You will need the smart-key as well as a valid finger-print to get it started. This COULD be annoying, I really like going into my car and turn it on fast as possible to leave.

As for the ultra-luxury look. It look SO CLEAN. Looks less boxy versus the LC300.

I hope they bring a hybrid into this, the one from lc500/new tundra.

The front-bumper on ultra-luxury reminds me this car is hybrid w/ shutters. It actually does not look like the bumper is too long/near ground. Remember, you can bring this car to hi1/hi2 range which should be enough to clear many off-road stuff which some 4x4 will struggle with.

I might be blind, but does any see recovery hooks in the front?

I rather see a normal/luxury sleeper off-roading versus dedicated off road machine/builds

Will have to see it in person. I’ve liked every Lexus LX in the 96 model debuted and I remember seeing at the auto show. This is the first time I’m disappointed.

When is Lexus getting rid of the Predator grill?
I mean this thing is more obnoxious than ever, I could never look at it with a straight face. Almost as bad as the new BMW ones.

Also why is there no V8 or hybrid option with more power?
A V6 in a giant SUV is not enough especially as this will be $100k or more.

Here is more detailed look - helps if you know Russian. The dual screen layout looks really bad as they are from 2 different cars with different size and resolution quality.
