I'm just thrilled there's no EV or hybrid junk on it.
I like most of the vehicle. The exterior looks great

I just can’t believe this is the design for the interior Just dreadful

Lol "dreadful". I think it's fine, it doesn't blow me away (I don't like exposed cup holders....in a vehicle this expensive???) but I can see why people dislike the dual screen setup. I do see a **** there but it's not for volume and thats the first thing people will reach for it for, mistake.

Isn't an issue on a 2021 S Class because it has a 48V electrical system.

I was under the impression that you put a lot of miles on the highway. I didn't say I wasn't impressed I just thought it might be a tad higher.
Most of my driving is suburban driving.

Start calling other brands next, lol.
I have never seen any evidence that reliability decreases with additional gears. If that were the case 6 speed automatics would be less reliable than older 4 speeds and so on, and thats definitely not the case.

Well that's good, I guess. But how about we just leave a ridiculously powerful MB V8 alone. It needs electronic assist crap like we all need a third nut or breast.

19.9 with a lean toward city driving is very impressive, I stand corrected. But I did think you traveled considerably more on the highway.

I still think it looks good with the exception of the silver trim that goes around the center stack, it makes it look a little cheap for this price range.

It gave it even more power. The 48V electric system also is a necessity for the amount of electrical equipment and features, and it does away with the need for any belts driving anything and the starter and alternator which makes the powertrain even more smooth and quiet. Should be more reliable, if anything.

Color me sad on this new LX center stack. Land Cruiser is OK. I think the Tundra has a better design. Silver doesn’t bother me….it’s the gear shifter…the buttons…the bezel around the top screen…the fact that there are two screen. The open cup holders…to one side and not spilt for both driver and passenger I guess everything. I guess I just can’t like everything Toyota/Lexus But I’m happy you like it

I hope and assume the shifter is still connected to the transmission. One thing I've noticed and enjoy on my LX is the shifter is as solid as granite, feels like you could *SLAM* it around for about 100 years straight. LS430 it's more delicate.

I owned an Acura that had a nice high-quality "cover" that slid over the cupholders, this is awful here for a 100k plus vehicle.

I am not sure. I prefer the gated shifters

Very easy to operate without using your eyes, I agree.

Why would anyone want electronic crap that people don't even like for a shifter?

Yeah I agree, now that I look at it, it does look a little cheap without a cover but I always keep any cupholder covers open so that’s why I guess it didn’t bother me much.

I don't know why manufacturers are doing away with covers for the cupholders, I guess its cost cutting/complexity cutting. I've noticed a lot of Audis including the new A6 dont have a cover on the cupholders.

Audi's have them in Europe and other markets but remove them for North America. I guess our large McDonalds drinks wouldn't fit their global spec cupholders with covers lol.

I had a 2016 A6 and it had a cover over the cupholders. The wood was fine grain ash which both my wife and I liked. They must have done away with the cover with the new model around 2018 or so.
