I can't believe my eyes on that BMW. That's what it really looks like with the tow package????

"The new LX 600 ditches the LARGELY BESPOKE FRAME from the last model and adopts Toyota’s New Global Architecture-F (TNGA-F), the same one used on the new Tundra and, of course, the LX’s kissing cousin"

Since we can't bold anymore, I have to say I'm not a fan of the highlighted there. LX shares a platform with Tundra? I was aware of this but it still doesn't sit right with me re: the new one.

This is the way of the future, the LC and Tundra are both on the new TNGA-F architecture, that doesnt mean they are on the same frame.

EVERYTHING Toyota makes is on TNGA, thats the whole point.

It makes totally non sense because you do need to kick in well past the bumper. Maybe the hardware/attachments? And yes, it looks ugly like **** but somehow it doesn't seem to bother people or maybe they don't have a choice. When I test drove the GLE, the guy said it was not an issue with MB. Not sure if what he said was correct.

The new platform will have greater torsional which is absolutely never a bad thing. It will improve both on and off-road performance. It's an upgrade, not a downgrade.

edit: Yep, the platform is 20% stiffer than the outgoing model.

Many don’t add the tow package because it’s ugly and you lose the hands free operation. Some like me have no choice because I use a cargo hitch rack.

I think every single carmaker is guilty of a bonehead move here and there. However with the price tag of that BMW that’s unforgivable.

On the Pacifica we have the tow package, and they just moved the kick sensor to the right...

The interior center consoled takes up too much space. Imagine how much more room it will have if they took some design clues from the Ioniq 5

While it's ugly, I think we need to be fair to bmw Looking at other similar suvs gx, gle, gls, q7... they do have exposed tow hitch too. IMO what makes it worse for the bmws is the tow hitch is positioned at the bumper level while others have it lower/off

Saw a Q7 today. No cover on the hitch. It is stunning the Germans do this

The Q7s though, is positioned almost entirely below the bumper. There is a slight cutout (less than an inch) in the underside of the bumper for clearance, but it doesn't come through the bumper like the X7 does. It's less obtrusive than the Lexus RX:

and the GX is a totally different level of in your face:

In the Lexus lineup, only the LX has a cover for the hitch.

The RX looks bad but I don’t even think you can get hitch from the dealer or factory. GX should have one but bugs me less so. Perhaps the Germans actually want people to see that there is a hitch for marketing reasons as they wouldn’t be know for towing based on their history MB G class excluded.

200s were clean, though honestly if it takes more than 2 seconds to get it up and going, cover off, lights and brakes connected I will get annoyed fast. Boat will be here within a few weeks, can't wait to tow with this.

Just watched a video from Raiti’s Rides on the new Sequoia and he must have read this thread because he pointed out the fact that it has a nice tow hitch cover.
