Default reusing a used airbag/steering wheel ? HELP

once an airbag has gone off.. is the whole piece gone? i know the flap on the front of the steering wheel folds down, and obviuosly the airbag comes out, but afterwards can you just take out the airbag and reclose the flap so it looks just like normal.
basicaly what i want to do is buy a steering wheel or airbag setup that has deployed and put a tv in it. (for show purposes only!)

A friend of mine bought a rebuilt '01 Jetta that had it's bags deployed during the accident which wrecked it. When he picked up the car, the flap in the steering wheel was duct taped closed, otherwise, the wheel looked normal. I'm guessing the bag had already been removed from the wheel hub (doubt the now-useless bag was restuffed, probably wouldn't fit). So I'm guessing yes, you could try to find a steering wheel SRS hub that had fired, cut out the bag/any innards, mount the screen over the part where the flap opens, and use the now empty hub to stuff any needed electronics into.

why was it duct taped closed? do you think once it openes it wont close again. Kinda like ripping it apart. yea i need to cut it open to fit a tv in there, but not that big of a whole. i need to see what an RX300 steering wheel airbag looks like when its exploded

When you change the steering wheel air bags, you only replace the center part(which is the air bag itself) not the whole steering wheel.

I remember seeing a place that sold non-functional air bag covers. I found it linked on the American Stitches site. Check it out: http://www.hicksairbagcovers.com/ Drivers side for the RX is listed at $75.

fist of all we are called salvage yards, if you need a blown airbag i have one of a 2nd gen gs, its not an air bag cover but a blown airbag, basically you can cut the air bag out put your screen in and reseal the air bag, you will need a plastic welder or someone that repairs bumpers to do so. let me know

There is a difference between what you guys may WANT to be called (salvage yards) and what you are ACTUALLY called (junkyards).

Here in VA I have never heard of the term "salvage" yard. ...but, to be fair, I don't know about TX.
