“Grained trim” = plastic wood. Ugh.

Bravo to Lexus on a Great design!
Finally no more hideous predator grill.
Love the aggressive design with wide fenders and boxy look.
The interior is great as well with Normal screen, traditional gauges, normal shifter etc. It is worlds better than the LX center stack design.
This definitely will sell incredibly well.
I think they definitely nailed the purpose of going after LR Defender and MB Gwagon. It would be cool to see F model with a V8 and some side exhausts.
Its not a vehicle I would personally consider but I’m happy to see Lexus come out with a great product.

it's growing on me, awaiting ability to build, then will order - really want to test drive!
Overtrail+ vs Premium due to tow rating - need a removable 3rd row though - leaning Overtrail but dislike plastic wheel well trim
Dislike the interior colors and way they did the 2-tone - I'm not a all black interior fan
Also dislike most woods, unless dull real wood - much prefer aluminum or mercedes flowing lines
Unsure about exterior colors and will need to see more of it to decide
Disklike the gear shifters, modern times it should be designed to save room and get out of the way

since you have a ford bronco and a land rover defender, i'm interested in your thoughts on this. does this gx compete with either of those? had this gx been out would you have got one instead of either of those 2 vehicles you have? etc. thanks!

I did a 3-day rental in a Defender 110 v6 with air and offroad pkg. Drove to the Blue Ridge mountains and put 600 miles on it. The interior has soft touch material all over, then hard plastic as said - a lot of interior storage though - that dash!, which the Lexus seems to lack? For $80k I felt the Defender lacked interior refinement. Either give me rubber floors to wash out with a hose, or stop pretending and give me grocery getter lux.
For Lexus, utilitarian looks needs function imo. I prefer a bit more lux than the utilitarian GX interior, but can always have the dash/parts wrapped in alcantara for accent

Silver plastic in the GX never bothered me. The overall is pleasant to my eyes. BTW, which cars in this price range does not have silver plastic? Are you sure you don't have any silver plastic in your LC?

Any guess/idea on when the hybrid version may be announced/available? I understand there is no official word as of yet.
According to Toyota’s global website, it’s a 2.4L I4 Hybrid similar to that of the RX500h and new Tacoma with exceptional efficiency and without compromising power output.

I don't know but I personally wouldn't want to pay 86k knowing a similar car costs less than half. Does it look 51k more luxurious? ![Cool](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/cool.gif)

And yes, all these cars have some silver plastic. LS400 buttons and radio faces and all were all plastic too…plastic use is not a new thing.
